Bug: Recurring Crash on Android Mobile
Greetings. Logos suddenly started crashing on my android mobile device for no reason, upon trying to start it up. I am a beta tester. I deleted Logos and reinstalled the latest update (27.0.1) from play.google.com. It worked for a bit, but then started crashing again. I am not able to keep Logos open at all on my phone, to use it for reporting the crash.

Same here. Right when I was about to start preaching last night (5pm UK time).
Strangely, it was fine in the morning (10.30am UK time).

Thanks Richard. Mine also resolved by itself today. However, I had already reinstalled the app, which now shows version number 28.0.0 (Build 1280000004). I don't know if it's working because it's an updated version, or if there was some logos server issue that temporarily caused the previous installation to keep crashing.

Does anyone from Logos know why Logos has days where it keeps crashing, then suddenly works as normal? Twice now this has happened on a Sunday, when I needed it at church.

Not from Logos, but I wonder if it is related to internet? Even if the church has good internet through the week, perhaps it gets slammed on Sunday?
Thanks for checking. All my other apps had excellent access to the Internet. It was just logos. Logos wouldn't even open. It just shows the display screen, then crashes. It happened both at home right before church, and also at church. It may still be possible it's Internet related, if Logos is unable to function without accessing Logos servers, and Logos servers happened to be down at that time. Is Logos server dependent? Will it not function if it's unable to access Logos servers, or does it just default to an offline mode where it functions without accessing the Internet?

There are a number of "online only" features, and the app does default to doing some things online first.

That being said, we shipped a newer beta than the 128000004 that you said you were on earlier in this thread that fixed a crash. Have you updated to 28.0.0 1280000006 to see if the crash is resolved?

Thanks Ali. The crash resolved itself as previously, but I could not use the app to report it because it would not remain open. The version I'm using is currently 28.0.0 1280000006, but I'm not aware what it was at the time of the crash. Does it help to make a crash report with the app after it resolves?

If you aren't experiencing a crash anymore, then there's no need to create the crash report. I believe the 0006 update probably fixed your crash, but (as always) please reach out in the forums if you experience any other issues!

On Saturday (8/26/2023), I was scheduled to deliver a Bible study around 9:30am. Logos mobile resumed crashing at that time, but self-resolved later in the day. The next Sunday (8/27/2023), it again crashed during our church services, but later resolved.
