Index of Bible Studies

If your library is large, the Index PB may be large. Perhaps it is too large to upload. If so, you can 1) recompile the index on the computer lacking the resource 2) copy the proper ?.lbspbb file manually.

He said this is on the same computer, where he compiled it
It is desktop, and it is where I compiled it all. All my resources are downloaded on it. I've done everything in the same computer. I've looked for that resources ID in the .docx but can't find it.
Building the book again in the Personal Books tool, as GaoLu is suggesting, might still help? Otherwise I would try restarting the Computer and Logos. If that doesn't help you might need to wait for the Logos wizards to log onto the forum or even contact customer service.

You have me confused as well. The file you reference is a .docx file - input to the PBB not a file to be used with Logos. Open the resulting file through your library or the PBB tool. I am also confused that you are trying to open it through Biblia which I don't think has personal book capabilities. I'm not sure the web app does either. Open if through the desktop Logos app.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

To reiterate:
- I am on the desktop app and working exclusively through it
- I have everything downloaded on this desktop
- I have compiled on this same desktop
- I am opening through the desktop
And this is what I get after compiling and opening the PBB through the PBB tool. As you can see, the personal book itself redirects to Biblia. I have no idea what Biblia is and I don't use it.

Could you go to your library, open the information panel, and select "My index" in the library main panel, then provide a screen shot? I have an idea of what might be going on.

I would love to but it's not in my library. Screenshot included with an additional library pane to show that I am finding other Personal Books, but "My Index" is nowhere to be seen event though I just compiled it.

Okay, we're getting somewhere. Your personal book either compiled to the wrong location - likely only if you have a nonstandard installation - or the compilation failed. Look in your logs folder (see Uploading Logs (logos.com) if necessary) and look specifically for the PBB logs - there should be some failure notice there.

Here are the logs, but I'm not sure how to read them myself.

It appears that the failure is in indexing the personal book. I would suggest contacting customer service as the issue is outside my comfort zone.

Did you try to build the book again? I would also try and build another test book using a docx file with just a few words. if that works add your original docx file to this book.

Rebuilding it on its own did not work, but attaching it with a blank book worked! Thank you for the suggestion Bernhard. I appreciate your help as well MJ!

Excellent program.
May I have a copy of your programming code?

Sorry for the slow reply. Now that the "Files" forum is a bit hidden, I don't check it as often as before.
This is the code. It is written in C# and uses Visual Studio.

I have created a new version of the Index of Bible Studies in Logos, with the addition of some new books. The instructions are a few pages ago in this forum, so I will repeat them here:
This file contains links to sermons, meditations, outlines, journal articles, Bible study guides, non versified commentaries, and more that do not appear in the Passage Guide. (Exception: some sermons now appear in the Passage Guide, but did not when I started, and I thought I would not remove them.) It is useful especially when preparing Bible studies or sermons on a certain passage, to find more ideas on the passage from your library that you can use.
To install the Index, download the Index Bible Studies.docx file, then use the Personal Books tool of Logos to create a new personal book. You can use whatever title you like, but it is best to set the type to "Bible commentary". On page 3 of this thread you can find a book cover that you can optionally use. The message https://community.logos.com/forums/p/65323/1093313.aspx#1093313 gives graphical instructions for this installation.
The index contains the books in my Logos library – there is a list of the included books at the end of the Index Bible Studies.docx file. Naturally, I cannot include books that are in your library but not in mine. However, it is possible to exclude books that are in my library but not in yours, which makes the resulting personal book easier to use. To create this personal index (Windows only):
1. Download and unzip the MyIndex.zip file.
2. There should then be two files in a directory. Start the Index Bible Studies.exe program, which will open Logos (if it is not already open), read the names of all the books in your library, and then create a file My Index Bible Studies.rtf in your Documents directory.
3. Open the My Index Bible Studies.rtf file in Word or another word processor and save it as a docx file.
4. Create a personal book from that docx file, in the same way as described in the previous paragraph setting the type to "Bible commentary".Richard Wilson

Thank you so much, Richard, for providing this invaluable resource - now since over ten years!
Have joy in the Lord!

You have provided a service now for ten years and it has been very much appreciated.

I don't know how, but I tried to follow the instructions, but I can't find the file after I unzipped it. Somehow, I messed up.

When unzipping the downloaded zip file, you would normally have an option to change or select the folder to which the file should be unzipped. The unzipped files will then be found in the specified folder (or perhaps a sub-folder of that folder).
If the file was unzipped successfully, you could find it by doing a search of your hard drive for "Index Bible Studies.exe".Wolfgang Schneider

wow, thank you so much Richard. The Lord works in mysterious ways. I was just looking for a way to access nonversified Materials in my library and Mick answered and brought me here. That is a wonderful and I imagine labour-intensive process that you have cut down to mere seconds. May the Lord bless your ministry and obviously he seems to be as this personal book and little application you provide will reverberate out to all that use in all that they touch. Thanks again

Is there perhaps a person who can program the converter for a Mac?

Is there perhaps a person who can program the converter for a Mac?
Until someone does, a workaround would be to temporarily install your Logos account on someone else's Windows PC, produce the PB version for your account there and upload it. It should then sync to your Mac. But that's a lot of work just for this and you would have to do it again for books that are new to you or newly included by Richard.
I'll shut my mouth and won't mention the other, much better workaround that involves a trip to a store that does use half eaten fruit as their logo [H]

There is an alternative method for the Mac described in my post on September 9, 2019 (should be page 9 of this thread). It has not been updated for a while (ie it only has the books that I had indexed up to that point), because it did not seem to be used much. But it would be a good start.

Richard I am so greatful for this excellent job. I consider myself as the most beneficial. For Bible study preparation I find it a great valuanle tool. Thank you for your time and evergy and all resources you have applied in preparing it. Most of the books I didn't use in my Libarary I can now use them. God bless you!
Blessings in Christ.
