I am studying up on Jonathan Edwards. I am looking to see what he said on atonement and salvation. But first I want a good overview on him as an interpreter and theologian. I have read the article on him from wikipedia. I have watched this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFP_1_NhKQE It is good. Like many others, I was introduced to Jonathan Edwards through my English class in middle school. We read "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" as a classic illustration of how miserable life was under Puritan rule. At 16, after I converted to Christianity, I ran into Edwards again. I received a copy of Edwards' Resolutions and Counsel to Young Converts from a pastor. It altered both my perception of the man and the Christian life. I found a level of faith and genuine sincerity for holiness that was completely different from what I had encountered in evangelical groups and my childhood mainline church. Upon rereading "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," I perceived God as magnificent and elegant, yet glorious and full. I searched the following: (Jonathan Edwards NEAR Atonement) (Jonathan Edwards NEAR Salvation) only to get 6 hits for the first and 7 for the second.

I searched the following: (Jonathan Edwards NEAR Atonement) (Jonathan Edwards NEAR Salvation)

These are not valid search terms.

Try "Jonathan Edwards" NEAR salvation or "Jonathan Edwards" NEAR Atonement

And ensure you have match case turned off so you are ignoring whether the search term starts with a capital letter or not

(Jonathan Edwards NEAR Atonement) (Jonathan Edwards NEAR Salvation)

I'm amazed you got any hits for those! Spaces are not allowed when you use another operator i.e. NEAR.

You can combine those by using "Jonathan Edwards" NEAR (Atonement OR  Salvation)  ---> make his name a phrase with straight quote marks

See the wiki Search Help  for further information.

A good overview of Jonathan Edwards is George Marsden Jonathan Edwards: A Life. I'm surprised Logos doesn't have it. I read it for a course in seminary. I recommended it a couple of years ago: https://feedback.logos.com/boards/logos-book-requests/posts/jonathan-edwards-a-life

As for his views on atonement, there's a quote from that book, "Christ's substitutionary atonement is a topic, like most other theological topics, that Edwards wrote on at some length. See 'Concerning the Necessity and Reasonableness of the Christian Doctrine of Satisfaction for Sin,' a compilation from the 'Miscellanies' on the topic, beginning with no. 779. Edwards is concerned especially to show that it is reasonable that a lawmaker who announces a punishment for a crime must see the punishment carried out."

You can find "Concerning the Necessity and Reasonableness of the Christian Doctrine of Satisfaction for Sin" in Works of Jonathan Edwards, Volume 2. The text of it is available online here. More of his works can be found at that site too: http://digitalpuritan.net/jonathan-edwards/

If it says it is not available for purchase then there is no way to purchase it. Sometimes they have books which they used to sell but don't or can't anymore. There's nothing we can do about it other than plead with them to bring it back.

When I first clicked on the link for this it said not available for purchase, but after a moment it updated and said only available in the collections below. But there were no collections listed. Sometimes when that happens, it's a mistake on the website, so you could report it on the Logos.com forum and hope it's something they can fix. But you'd still need to buy some large collection in order to get the book in that case, which is probably not feasible for you.
