Import songs with formatting

Since it is now possible to change formatting of song lyrics letter by letter, we would like to use it to insert psalms with rhythm information. So every syllable can be italics or not depending on the rhythm.

I have all the psalms with the correct formatting and would like to import it into Proclaim. Is this possible and what kind of format do I need to use. I can create a small script to generate a specific format if necessary.

bumping this post in hopes of getting a useful response

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Not absolutely sure that I understand what you want to accomplish.

Could you post a mock up (use the paper clip)?

What happens if you simply copy and paste?

    8371.Sample Psalm 42.1.rtf

This is a sample of a song. I tried copy pasting it from word or wordpad but then it paste the whole song as italics and not specific syllables

    Hi Corné

Please use the paper clip to attach documents to posts. There are a number of folk who are very wary of allowing stuff to download onto their computers.

I opened your rtf in word and placed the cursor in the document, Cmd+A highlighted the text, Cmd+C copied it to my clipboard, Cmd+V produced the results below...

I figured out why it didn't do single syllables cursive, we use a custom imported font which didn't have cursive and normal in the same weight. As soon as I added the extra font it worked when c.

But just to double check, it is not possible to do an automatic import using import media->song lyrics in any format?

That is beyond my ken Corné. I tend to either use song select or to copy and paste from www.hymnary.org .
