New feature- Chapter Summary of book

This feature is in the works. It was shared by Mark Barnes sometime back but I cannot access the feature anymore.
It was located on the web app.
It summarizes the chapter of the book that you’re reading before you read it.
Thanks for your help.

It is currently undergoing beta testing for the desktop app

Does that mean that it is no longer available to the public user like me?
Thank you

The web app beta for this feature was closed on Dec 1, 2023. As Graham indicated, the feature is now being tested via the Logos Desktop beta.

Check out the Summarized Bibles Old and New Testament - I have benefitted from them.

No
anyone can choose to get involved in beta testing - details are at the top of the beta testing forum. But please note the warnings associated with beta testing including possible loss of data.

Your question was answered by others, but for clarification: We do not know the costs or who this feature will be made available to after the beta period.

Also, would this feature show up on the full version of Logos if your feature set is "Logos Early Access"?
I ask because after setting up the beta version of the desktop client on my MacBook and trying it on there, I found that I have access to the summary feature on my PC desktop, which is not the beta version...

When you say you have access, are you saying you are able to use the summarize feature on your non-beta computer, or only saying that the Logos Early Access is showing up as a feature set in your account info? If the latter, I'm expecting that's normal because of the special way of getting access to the AI features. If the former, then that is certainly curious.

I can use the AI Summarize feature on my non-beta Logos on my desktop.

I have not signed into beta....but I don't have the AI summarize feature. How did you do that?

Being involved in this specific beta gives you a temporary license. It is your account that has this feature.

That's cool. So I have the "early access" feature set because I signed up for the beta on my other computer?

I realize it is only an assumption since the Forum is MOSTLY common users without inside information, but I want to put a bug in the ear of the Logos decision-makers who frequent the Forums...This would be GREAT to include for Faithlife Connect subscribers AND/OR those who had access to the earlier iteration of this feature back in Series X.
Making Disciples! Logos Ecosystem = LogosMax on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Win11), Android app on tablet, FSB on iPhone & iPad mini, Proclaim (Proclaim Remote on Fire Tablet).

Temporarily???? Which means it'll probably be taken away later?

Yes - see Mark’s post at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/220603.aspx
We haven’t been advised yet how access will continue after the beta period ends.

So... if I sign up for beta Logos.... then go back to standard Logos I will gain the Access... but I stand to lose some of my data by switching to beta????
I've been leary of switching to beta because of the thought of loosing some of my data.

I totally understand - and is a valid reason to not switch to the beta channel.
It is a long time since I have had serious problems on the beta channel but I know, for some people, it causes regular crashes if nothing more. And this can be to the level that they struggle to use Logos so having a backup "production" machine is important.

Do what? Beta test? When you beta test, you should always carefully read through the posts in the beta forum. Mark made it clear that this round of beta testing would require special licenses applied to your account, which is normally not the case.
Beta testing can be fun, but it can also cause problems and loss of data. When there are "higher than normal" chances of that happening, Logos lets us know... but it is ALWAYS a possibility.
Additionally, there is an understanding that when you beta test you will provide careful reports of things that you find... that is the purpose of beta testing.

Beta test on my laptop, which I don't use much, and reap some benefit on my non-beta channel Logos on my desktop with the "Logos Early Access".

Awesome! Like the textbook summaries they sell online so you don’t have to read the entire book 👍

That would be a question for the beta forum.
(I think the answer is "yes," but since you are the one beta testing (I am not this go around) it is your responsibility to know what is allowed)
