Search Problem: Match all word forms - Bug?
Folks, I'm still trying to get my head around searching. Whether I'm just not understanding or there's a bug which makes things inconsistent and hurts my ability to understand I don't know.
I searched in the NET Bible for footnotes with the word "beginning" in them. I turned off "Match all word forms"
Used footnote:"beginning"
First hits are expected: Gen 1:1 note #1 - talks about the meaning of the word "beginning" and uses the word. (I don't understand why it is called "Chapter 2" in the results list.) and note #5 (albeit in Gen 1:2 and not listed separately) uses "beginning."
Nest hits are unexpected: Gen 2:4 notes #9 & 11 - they use the word "begin" - but not "beginning" - although I can't see the whole note so it may be there - that's another issue I've asked about elsewhere (I don't know how to paste the url for a forum post). I thought unclicking the "Match all word forms" AND putting it in "" (inverted things) would limit it to just the exact word. If I have to use exact: how do I nest these commands?
Please explain what is happening. Thanks.
Chris

Chris,
it helps to open up a "powerlookup" window so you can see the whole notes.
And, yes...beginning is in the other "unexpected" places. I zipped through some of the results at random...the word is found in each one.
PS: isn't unchecking "find all forms" the same as "exact"?

That Powerlookup is brilliant as I can just select a particular note to look at.

You also have to check Match Case for an exact match, else the match is case insensitive.

Developers please note the incorrect label (Chapter 2) for the first result in Gen 1:1

That is a known bug in the actual source, it has been reported.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.
