Cannot highlight text on iPad app

I have an intermittent problem on the Logos ipad app. I like to highlight texts by holding-dragging my finger across the texts, which will highlight with my default highlighter. This stopped working recently on my ipad. When I try to perform this action, a dotted outline of the text appears but it will not highlight or even select the text to perform any action from the menu. On my iphone, everything works normally. I tried force quitting the app and restarting the ipad, but nothing works. Screenshot attached. Thanks for the help!

I have a similar issue on my iPad. The highlight box will pop up and disappear immediately. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but the problem remains.

Turn off scrolling view and see if this helps.

That was a good idea but it didn't help. Still cannot select a text to highlight, copy, or perform any related action.

    I can reproduce this.

If I simply touch, hold and slide I get the blue box as in your screenshot.

If I touch, await a word highlight and then slide I can highlight the text using the highlight box.

I cannot select text at all to perform any functions. if i select text, the pop up box appears for a split second then disappears. This is really frustrating

I can confirm the issue on my iPad Air 1st Gen.

We have a ticket open for this issue.  It will be fixed in our next major update, version 35.  Please make sure that you are not using iOS 18, which is a Beta operating system.  We do not support it.

It is already fixed in our Beta version. If you would like to consider changing to the Beta version, further information is available here.

I had recently been having a problem with highlighting on the iPad…and finally figured out that something had turned "View Settings" / "Show Notes / Highlights" off. (I do not recall doing this, though it is possible this setting was synced from a different device).

So I think everything is working now, but previously I had written this: Sorry to say, but highlighting on the iPad is still broken on both 37.0.3 (1) on iOS 17.6.1 on a 10th generation device, as well as on beta 38.0.0 (140) on iOS17.7.2 on a 6th generation device.

Selecting text works, but the"highlight" color in the app is not preserved / is not displayed. This used to work well, but broke in he past few weeks. However it seems that the "highlight" is actually saved (to Notes) on both versions.
