Life in the Spirit New Testament Commentary
I have used Life in the Spirit New Testament Commentary by Zondervan for several years. Zondervan quit publishing it. I think it is the best 1-vol commentary available. If you have used it and would like to see Logos add it to their Zondervan list, please respond and see how much interest there might be in this.

I like it, too.
Re: Charismatic works, there is also this, which would be nice to have in Logos: http://www.renewaltheology.net/index.html - you can read an excerpt online.
(It's too bad whoever designed the above Webpage repeatedly misspells "Pentecostal" - I've contacted the Webmaster or contact person about this.)
Optimistically Egalitarian (Galatians 3:28)
Not personally familiar with this (though very interested), but I see a few references (from Google)

"It started out as the Full Life Study Bible; then it became the Life in the Spirit Study Bible. Now we know it as the new and improved Fire Bible—a reference library in one volume."
There are a couple of different things being mentioned in this thread (I have them all).
First, there's the thread starter's reference to the "Life in the Spirit NT Commentary." It's a fabulous one book commentary that I'd highly recommend to anyone that wants to see what traditional, conservative Pentecostals theology is. I used the descriptive words I did so as to alert people that this volume is N-O-T written from a Word of Faith, Prosperity Gospel, hyper-Charismatic (feelings and emotions without the doctrine) perspective. It really is worth it's weight in gold as far as I'm concerned.
Second, there's the "Full Life Study Bible." This was published in the early 90s by Zondervan and later revised and called the "Life in the Spirit Study Bible." It was recently picked up by Hendrickson and is now called the "Fire Bible." They are all essentially the same, although minor revisions leave me loving the original more than the other two. This is easily my number one resource tool and the best study bible on the market from a traditional Pentecostal perspective. It's indispensable as far as I'm concerned.
I'd give my right arm if these two resources were added to Logos. Well, okay, that may be a bit of hyperbole. But not by much. [;)]
Gary,
I have been out of the office for several days. You are correct in identifying 2 different books. The Fire Bible (originally FLSB and LSSB) was the project by one of our missionaries for pastors overseas who do not have access to Bible study material. It has become the staple of many national pastors. I think it is currently available in 39 languages. Zondervan picked up these notes and originally published as FLSB. The commentary was an outflow of this project from what I understand. In correspondence with one of the contributers to the commentary, Accordance software has acquired the rights and will soon have it available as a component to their software. Was hoping Logos would do that so I don't have to buy another Bible software.
I've always loved my Life in the Spirit New Testament Commentary. It is one of the few reasonable commentaries out there that gives good scholarship with a Pentecostal/Charismatic viewpoint. Its only downside right now is that it is not currently available in Logos. This means that I can only have access to it when I am sitting in my church office. PLEASE add this resource!
I completely agree, Stephen. This is, for lack of a better word, one of the two "holy grail" resources I'm hoping and praying Logos will get. The other is the companion to it, the "Life in the Spirit Study Bible" or it's twin brother, the "Fire Bible."
Pretty please, Logos. I need these resources if I am to use the software to it's fullest. I honestly don't want to use other software that has these available. I'd like to stick exclusively with Logos, but these two resources are critical for me.
I wish Logos had picked this up. It is available on Accordance as Life in the Spirit New Testament Commentary.
( ... some link ...)
I really don't want to buy another software program to get it.
Have joy in the Lord!
I asked Logos if they had any plans for this resource and this is the answer I got:
"We do not currently have anything in the works to bring that product in to the Logos format. Thanks for asking. Have a wonderful day!"
I really don't want to pay $120 to get this commentary on digital format ($49.99 for the Accordance software + $69.99 for the commentary), especially if I have to use a separate program, but I'm starting to lean that way...
Just to keep everyone here up to date, I just received a message from Rich Tatum at Logos:
"Just a personal note, though, Stephen, I was hired to expand our content offering for both Pentecostals and Charismatics and this is definitely on my list of things I will talk to the rights-holders about. By God's grace, we will find favor."
Here's hoping!
Anyone hear anything else about if Logos has made any headway on making this resource available? It's starting to look like I should have purchased Accordance Bible Software instead of Logos--they have all the resources I have on Logos and all the ones I can't find on Logos.
Logos, if you have any updates on if and when this is coming, I'd love to hear them!

Amen to all of this. I love Logos and desperately want to keep it as my default bible software, but the continued neglect of Pentecostal materials like the "Life in the Spirit NT Commentary" and "Fire Bible" make it very difficult to remain faithful. How the company can find a way to offer material from seemingly every other theological persuasion, but not from Pentecostals, is incredibly sad. I've begged them for years now to offer a few works that I consider very standard and nothing has changed. I'm about to give up hope.

As late as a year ago they had virtually nothing specifically Orthodox or SDA. Then they hired some new Product Managers, and now they do. Unfortunately, however, the Pentecostal Product Manager left again, which is why that market has fallen behind.

I am wondering if anyone knows the situation as far as a Pentecostal product manager... I would love to see the Life in the Spirit New Testament Commentary come to Logos. The only Bible software I know of that has it as of now is Accordance. I'm so invested in Logos at this point that I am just hoping they pick this product up soon!
You are responding to a post that is s decade old. Logos is no longer structured around denominational managers.
