Zondervan on Logos!!!!!
Comments
Yes, finally.
Once upon I bought a package from Zondervan, Expositor's Bible Commentary, which I treasure. When they updated the resource, or shall I say interface, they wanted a hefty upgrade price. I'm still using their antiquated interface, and resolved never to buy another Zondervan electronic product again.
Now there's hope again... and integration. Thank you, Logos... and Zondervan. I'll now reconsider my decision...

Scott,
Looking at your picture I'm wondering if your real name isn't Dorian Gray. You're looking very young.

That's my situation as well. I'm using the EBC in STEP format because the upgrade to Pradis costs $60 (plus another $60 for shipping to France!). Now I see that the Logos standard price is over $460. Even the sale price ($130) is more expensive than the Pradis price of $125.
I do have the Pradis Greek/Hebrew collection, and those books aren't even mentioned in the Logos package.
I have the Pradis 5.1...running on the 6.0 engine....the footnotes do not pull up in the dependent books-footnotes...have to be scrolled to at the end, or else run a separate instance of EBC to view them...you didn't miss much. I don't know much about LOGOS's pricing vs. their pre-pub. Do they normally hold to such inflated prices $460? I think you can get the hardbound cheaper!
I don't know much about LOGOS's pricing vs. their pre-pub. Do they normally hold to such inflated prices $460?No, this is not the normal way pre-pub offers look. Zondervan is still setting their own prices. My guess is that it was a condition of their willingness to make their stuff available on Logos format. They wanted to keep control of as much as possible and that included price.
I already have some of it in Pradis, but will be buying it for Logos as I need it.

YES!!!! I had to check to make sure that it wasn't April 1 though!
Is there any chance we can see a exact layout format as present in the printed version of any books in Logos? All those title from Zondervan have nice color pictures, and well highlighted color heading and titles....
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free", John 8:32.
"你們必定認識真理,真理必定使你們自由", 約翰福音 8:3.
After the Christian History Magazine without-graphics ordeal, I looked very cautiously at the Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible (5 Vols..) The description DOES say it has the pictures.
There are no progress bars on the Pre-Pubs. Will they be shipping before NICOT/NT?
$2K? ... ouch.
Seriously. I just got Spurgeon 86 (Thank you!) and NICOT/NT is only three weeks out. Not counting all the "little stuff"...... I am scared to death the Zondervan 87 will ship right before Christmas. If I can't afford it at $2000 I'll probably never be able to get it.[:'(] Oh yeah, Calvin 108 is coming at us. They just can't hold that release to his 501st birthday. [^]

Yes, I'm in the same boat. However, the savings of buying the collection right now is not that significant. With being already committed to the NICOT/NT, the Zondervan titles are going to have to wait a bit I'm afraid. However, knowing that they are there is brilliant because I will be buying some of them. In fact, I would have bought some of them by now if it hadn't been for only being available on Pradis.
I wrote Zondervan on more than one occasion asking them to release their products on Logos, so now that they have done this, I am going to drop them a note of support. This is a brilliant development!
I agree. I am very happy to hear the news. When I look at the Mega package, there are only 2 books I don't like and only 3 books I am neutral on. Everything else os something I would love to have. But I noticed many of the individual Pre-Pubs are priced the same as retail. The Blog said Zondervan gets to set the prices. I may have to forego the bulk.
Still I say "Thank you Zondervan & Logos!" [<:o)]
Logos 7 Collectors Edition
That is good news! I wonder if the collection will be offered as unbundled products? While it may be more expensive that's probably the only way I'm going to be able to afford it, unlless....
Hey! Anybody got a couple grand you can lend me? I'll pay you back at the rapture! [:D]
You can buy each of the series, but not volumes separately. For example, the NIVAC for the New Testament is $249. It doesn't appear that you could just buy the volume for Romans at this stage.
Duh!!!! That's exactly what I meant! I should have scrolled down the page a little. I've been eyeing the NIVAC/NT for a while and debating hardcopy vs digital. Maybe the debate's over. Thanks Donovan!
I have wanted to buy the NIVAC for some time and am looking forward to adding it to my resources. Oh, my poor aching book budget!!! It has truly been assaulted this year on more than one occasion! ;-)
