Most of these manuals I have owned for years:

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    I noticed the same issue.

This led me to check. Yup, I purchased these, but they're labeled as temporary. Likely a bug that they may or may not fix. But it does send a twinge of panic: Do I have the documentation to prove ownership? I have a lot of confidence in FL/Logos, but this is concerning.

I agree. I was positive I owned these as well and in another thread I worriedly asked if there was a way to verify all of the previous Full Feature Set content I owned in the event it happens elsewhere. They took down that package to verify.

One of those was the memorization tool. I was pretty sure that feature was in older packages but on the subscription page for Pro it shows it as "New to You"

So, the resources in question were owned, but after subscribing the same resources were included in the resources provided with the Subscription and now show up in your library as temporary???

I thought we were told this would not be an issue with the temporary resources not being "dynamic".... I can't remember if it was one of my phone conversations or if it was mentioned in the forum threads - either way, we should not have to audit our licenses....

I just checked my Library licenses and somehow as a non-subscriber I have 25 temporary licenses, most for resources I have had for years before the "New Era"......

I agree that this is concerning. I hope Logos is keeping proper records of our licenses. Hopefully they can track the date a license changed from owned to "temporary".

This really warrants a comment, even if it's just to say, "sorry, we're looking into it."

    Same....

Was this a feature that falls into the "improved" category or a "new" memorization tool? It would be nice to hear from Logos on this licensing issue

Most of these manuals I have owned for years:

    "Most"? Which ones?

We're trying to track this down, so specific information will be helpful. When did you purchase the following resources and what orders were they included in (I just picked a handful):

    • Author Slide Templates Documentation (LLS:CIDBDOCAUTHSLIDES)
    • Kantillationsanalyse zur Lexham Hebrew Bible: Datensatz-Dokumentation (LLS:CIDBDOCLEXHEBBIB-DE)
    • Proverbs Verse Art Collection Documentation (LLS:PRVRBSVRDCMNTTN)

My best guess is that these are all actually new in Logos Pro or Logos Max and the "Temporary" license is correct. Can you provide some information to show that that's not correct?

I'd expect e.g. Bullinger's Figures of Speech to be one that longtime users own.

Users have owned the dataset for a long time, but the dataset documentation resource is new in Logos Pro. I'm starting to realise that's the source of the confusion here.

MJ had (and still has) a permanent license to the dataset, but it never came with documentation. It now does, in Logos Pro. This is currently a subscription-only resource.

Thank you for commenting, Bradley. Admittedly, it has become harder to verify owned contents now that all of the feature sets have been taken offline (adding to concern that with less information at one's disposal bad things could happen, perhaps even going unnoticed).

However, I am grateful to Justin Gatlin for providing a current list of Logos 10 full feature set features at this location: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/226203/1321582.aspx#1321582

I will provide a non-comprehensive list of Manuals that I used to permanently own, but now only have a temporary license to:

    - Today in Christian History Dataset

    - Synopsis of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles

    - Proverbs Verse Art Collection

    - Mars Hill Media Collection

    - Israelite Sacrifices Dataset

I hope this is sufficient to aid in your search. Shouldn't it be as simple as verifying that Logos 10 full feature set owners own all of the features/datasets listed within it?

Edit: your previous comment may go a long way in explaining this...

No. These resources are all new and were never owned before.

Those are very likely to be from a "Logos Basic" collection or similar. Those resources have always been unlocked as "Temporary" (because we reserve the right to change the contents of Logos Basic and so they don't count towards dynamic pricing).

As per my previous response, I don't believe these were ever permanently owned. We'll perform an internal license audit to verify this, but these are almost certainly new in Logos Pro (or higher).

Ah. Then it seems the library is technically correct. (I personally would assume that datasets should be documented (unless it makes actually no sense to write a documentation), and when the documantation was delayed, once finalized it should be shipped to all owners, not the subset of owners who happen to be subscribed to a certain level.)

Datasets are particularly difficult to verify from the user's end, because many of them cannot be specifically found in the library if I am correct. However, I think you have hit the nail on the head as to identifying the problem. Thank you for providing this clarification. I do agree that ideally documentation should accompany the dataset rather than exist as a temporary license. But that's a different discussion entirely. It appears nothing is out of order after all. [:D]

I'm not sure why these resources were never included in L10 FFS. It may have been an oversight at the time. (Even if they weren't produced, a license for a forthcoming book could have been included. I guess no one--internally or externally--noticed until now?)

Kantillationsanalyse zur Lexham Hebrew Bible: Datensatz-Dokumentation (LLS:CIDBDOCLEXHEBBIB-DE)

FYI, this was the wrong resource and we've swapped it out for Lexham Hebrew Bible: Cantillation Analysis Documentation (LLS:CIDBDOCLEXHEBBIB).

Interesting: I have made on the 5th. October an e-mail to another Logos user, if he had noticed some databases from Jessica Parks are not available anymore.

I figured it out. The two I was certain of had documentation, but it was internal to the interactive rather than a separate resource - Israelite sacrifices and synopsis of Samuel... Sorry for raising the alarm although the puzzlement was legitimate.

I took a dump of all my resources back in March, and can confirm, these manuals weren't part of my library back then. I was also absolutely certain that I had owned them permanently.

(Yet another example of the Mandela effect....)

If we own the dataset, why do we have to subscribe to get the documentation? Ownership of the documentation should come with ownership of the dataset, even if the documentation was produced later.

    Bradley,

Is there any way we can get a comprehensive list of what was included in the Logos 10 Full Feature Set?

    Thanks

The resource version for Verse Art, 3x Media, Author Slides, and Bullinger is 2022-03.
Beitzel and Synopsis of Samuel... are 2021.
All these could have been in L10 FFS, whilst Today in Christian History and Israelite Sacrifices are 2023-05.

Most of my Logos Pro books were added in March and May, but the above were added to my Library on Oct 5, 2024 along with 14 other books.

Additional Logos Max books were added on Oct 12.

I've raised this internally. (Like I said earlier, I don't know why it wasn't in L10 FFS.)
