Determining which commentary is which from parallel commentaries window

Hi there

I am coming across a problem with the 'parallel commentaries' window, shown below. When looking for a parallel commentary, there is no additional information about a commentary available.  This makes it quite hard to distinguish between commentaries, before opening them, unless you happen to be able to remember what the cover looks like.  It would be nice to have the commentary series show in the text description or additional information show when hovering over the commentary name. Are there any options I'm missing to enable further information?

thanks

Paul

I agree. I think if you rename the resources they display as you name them but we shouldn’t have to do that. I often have to go to the title page because I forget what the abbreviations mean as well.

There are no options to toggle more information.

A workaround is to rename your commentaries as I have below to include all the relevant info:

As you can see I haven't gotten around to renaming every single book as the work is fairly tedious and works better with series. To rename a book open the information panel from the book or from the library panel and you can click the title to edit.

    Not ideal, for sure.

An easy fix would be to allow a hover to show a pop-up of a detailed biblio, similar to hovering over a tab.

This is already a feature. It just takes a moment for it to show up.

Fascinating...I've never seen it....guess I'm not waiting long enough.

I also give my own "Short Title" so as to be able to know what book it is. But as the others have said, this is time consuming work, even to do it just for the prioritized books.

My question: Is there a way to automate renaming Short title as "Series-Last name of Author"?

I suspect this is old toolbar vs. new 'dynamic' resource toolbar. The popup is absent from the new toolbar.

I can confirm (running Logos 37 with new toolbar and Verbum 36.1 with old), that's the issue - and should be fixed soon.

Thanks Morgan, I was obviously not waiting long enough.  If I wait a bit longer it does appear.  Interesting that most people have not spotted this, perhaps an indication that the wait is too long?

I am running with Logos Pro and have the new dynamic toolbar with popups. Seems inconsistent user to user then?

Interesting that if you are in Insights and click on the down arrow next to a commentary, the series are clearly shown next to each name

Open the Information panel (found in the Tools menu) and hover over each commentary. This will provide a brief description of the resource, though it does require an extra step.

... and I see this fixed in Logos 38 Beta 1.
