Please add the ability to "nest" notebooks into one another, or organise them into folders. It would make managing a large number of notebooks easier.

Yes, notebooks, especially since some are created automatically, are messy in their current implementation.2
-
Yes, this has become unwieldy. We need to be able to have a file explorer view to manage our growing notebooks, clippings, personal books.0

At this time, as far as i can tell, notes that are within a notebook are placed by date. It would be nice if there were a ability to place a tab(s) within the notebook that you can title. This would be a benefit for many reasons. 1. You could organize your notes by year, month and date. If a person is taking notes primarily for sermons they could create a notebook with the year then tab it out in months. 2. If you are taking notes on a paper book you could title the notebook then subtitle in tabs. I'm sure there are other ways in which people could find a use for a feature such as this1

When working with Notebooks it would be very helpful, to be able to organize not only with the preaching-theme Option but with as many Subfolders as needed.
I think we all have some Folders at out Computer sitting with some of our Topics.
When digging deep in dpecisl tocics, a good organisation is everything =)
Im working currently with OneNote, but with only the Possibility with 3 Subfolders its missing good Organisation...
But the Seaching-Funktion is very helpful.
Also a more specialized Searching-Option would be great.1 -
In order to organice your own Thoughts about many topics it would be very helpful to have the option to organize with Subfolders.1

Notebooks which i can organize in Folders would clean up the Information-Wall in my Notebooks2
-
I find the same problem. Notebooks without organization are completly useless.0
-
Im working currently with OneNote, but it doesnt work out because of the limited options for subfolders...
I would LOVE to move to Logos with all the Folders i already have there.
We are talking about 400+ Folders collected in just 2 Jears!!
Because of this we need a Folder-Option with unlimited Subfolders for Notebooks!2 -
Subfolders in Notebooks are one of the greatest Advantages over having just a Book. Please make that possible!
Thats a thing thats keeping me from buying Logos 9!1 -

Please like the other "notebook-folders-requests" so the developers work on it.
A biblesoftware should offer a good organization in notebooks due to its complexity.
Greetings, Joel0 -
I believe that if one can have multiple notebooks with multiple folders it would very well eliminate the confusion with the current notes feature.1
-
With this feature, you could title a notebook as a book in the bible and tab it out by chapter. Within the tab you could take notes as you please. You could sub-tab by verse.
Or, you could create a notebook with a topic title and tab it out as you please. It seems there are many options one could benefit by this feature.0 -
I really enjoy the Sermon Manager. This really frees up your time spent organizing sermons. I have been preaching an average of 3 sermons a week for the last 15 years, it is nice to have this available. I could really use the notebook/Tabs feature as a way to enhance my study versus using notebooks to organize my sermons. If I could have the ability to reference my notes more readily by name and title/subtitle/tabs etc. i think it would be a great benefit.0

We'll pray, it happens very soon^^0 -

For Example: Topic: Love
Subfolders: -Gods love to us
-What is love
-Expressions
-Orientation of Love (Subfolders: Selflove, Love God, Love People, love Family, Wife, .......)
And even much deeper than that. Just a small example.
And just with tags its never nearly the same.

Please add the ability/functionality to create a notebook inside an existing notebook. This would offer additional organization for ideas/subjects/etc.1
-
It would be great to add a subfolder option in Notebooks to organize better.1
-
This is something I would really like to see. At the moment I am using an external notes application for most of my notes but I would really prefer to have them inside Logos0
-
This is the missing link in the notes feature, please include it in the next release of Logos. You will make us so happy0

Addition requests for the same features:

This is definitely needed especially in the newest form of the Notes tool.0

Yes, what I want is similar to this. However, I believe this will be an asset for me as well. Ex. I am doing a 2 year Journey Through the Bible. Each book of the Bible is a Note Book, ex. JTTB Genesis, JTTB Exodus etc. I want those nested.
But going further, the two year reading plan is divided into segments, I want the notes created for each segment, Bible and resources, to be nested in the note I call Isaiah 1-3:16, the plan reading segment, ex. What I highlight in the bible and resource, the bible references included in the resource and bible and the footnotes. I still want my Bible and resources to be individualized but nested under the Reading Plan segment if I so choose.
A flow chart would be a better visual and if you are having a problem with the visual as I've explained I would be happy to do a version of a flow chart for you. TY0 -
The notes area is a central point, also in connection with the highlighters, in Logos. It must be possible to create further sub-folders within the note folder. This would also be very, very helpful for organizational reasons.
It should also be possible to nest the folders in the notes using drag & drop.
God bless everyone here

Hi I was wondering if in Note book, we could add a feature in which you can move a number of note books into a single note book. Similar to windows explorer, that can have a number of folders. The reason is because when I preach through a whole book, I end up having maybe 30 -50 notebooks with all their notes, and I was hoping to beable to gather all sermons say for one book into one over arching notebook. (like Ephesians would have a note book for vs 1-4, vs 7-18 etc) The idea of having multiple sub folders, like you would find in windows explorer. It would help to organize things better.1

YES! Please add this. One of the biggest downfalls for my personal library is the inability to organize notes.0
-
Yep, that would be fantastic!0

"12. The Notes functionality (which is already much better than Accordance) should be extended. Since I have too many Notebooks already, it is quite a bit to scroll in the list. I would suggest adding a possibility to build up a directory tree of Notebooks in the Notebooks view of Notes. Thus adding and editing and moving around both folders and notes, expand and diminish folders and sub-folders, i.e. functionality similar to a File explorer. A note should be possible to copy and add to several folders."
(from Bjorn Petterson's long list)1 -
I use tagging and anchors to have an approach tonested notebooks but the visual way of seeing multiple notebooks would make a better user experience for users and those thinking about purchasing.0
-
I agree. Adding sub-folders isn't just a want but a much-needed, long overdue necessity. Praying it is added soon.0
-
Would help to organize the notes better0
-
The ability to nest folders will seriously improve note taking in logos. Please consider implementing this change. Tags are an adjunct to folders they are not a replacement. The usability Logos notes will take a leap forward when nested folders are added.0
-
Would be great to have. Currently, notes are difficult to find. With applications such as one note I was able to immediately find my notes based on organization with folder/subfolders. Different organizational levels would make Logos invaluable.0
-
I wait for Folders since i have Logos. It is the one thing, that keeps me from working with the notes. Because i wont be able to find them fast. Unlimited depths (Layers) in Folders would be something, i would use a lot.0
-
The current Notes system is great - the sidebar facets, notebooks and search functions are great improvements over the old notes system. However, the notes are still in one big bucket. My mind thinks more like an outline or a file cabinet. Folders with sub-folders (at least 5 levels) are a more natural way to group notes like any other documents we use in life- digital or physical. A folder system along with the sidebar facets, notebooks and search functions would be a much easier and more accurate way to store and retrieve our notes.0
-
I would find this very helpful. Right now, I had to implement a folder naming convention to make sure my notebooks sort categorically. Folders would eliminate that. Would actually be better if Docs could also have a folder structure. Or if Docs, Notes, and Shortcuts could all work from the same folder structure. Personally, I don't need notes to live at different levels of the notebook hierarchy. I'm not interested in recreating the Mac's finder (i.e., windows explorer) within Logos.0

Agree. With one notebook per sermon, it’s getting a bit unwieldy. Like the folder paradigm including with unlimited nested folders.0
-
Yes, please. It would greatly improve my use of the Notebook feature if I could better organize it.0
-
Great Idea I support it completely.0

This would be wonderful!

I would so love this feature. It's the only way to keep your notes structured and organized. The one option you have now is to work with Tags.0

I agree that a folder/subfolder system is essential.0

In my opinion, in L10 the favorites tool is very helpful to organize notebooks in folders. It seems to me that the question for folders in the notes tool is less relevant than it was before L10 was launched.
However, I agree with the question. I experience the mess of notebooks not in the notes tool, but under the visual filters button. There appears an endless list of notebooks in the section "notes and highlights". And when I like to see only the highlights of one notebook, I have to turn them off all (but one) manually. I think this feature requires more than just adding folders to the notes tool, but also a good implementation of this at other places in L10. Notebooks are not only in the note tool!0 -
Subfolders in Notes please. Also cross reference within Notes. (i.e. - Notes linked with each other).
Cannot work out what ANCHOR within Notes is used for?? Can anyone please explain. Thanks.0
