Add real-time machine translation feature

All texts (books, commentaries, lexicons etc) should be possible to translate. Google translation is a very powerful tool nowadays, and could be for non-native English speaking persons with a bunch of English texts to read. My proposal therefore is, to have a possibility to 1. right click somewhere on a page and have the option "Translate continuously" and if selected a show selectable list of available languages the origin text could be translated to and 2. select a specific text with a left button selection, then right click and get an option to "Translate selected text" and if selected, show a selectable list of available languages the origin text could be translated to.

In the first case the text should be translated in the default window and no new window should be shown. A "go back to origin language" option should be available with a right click. In the second case, a new window with the selected text should be shown, with the translated text. By clicking somewhere else, it should disappear.
Only the default origin text language should be translated, other languages should not (hebrew, greek, latin, transliteration etc).

I would like the system can add a translation feature (for example embedded Google translate engine) to the desktop and mobiles. User can freely select the target language from the resource language.
Understand that it is not really accurate however, if the interface can parallel display both on screen that could help user to read and got better understanding. (You can put a disclaimer of for reference only)

Nowadays, tools like deepl.com are very effective for translating texts into other languages. Why is it not possible to integrate such a tool into logos? Maybe users could use (and would buy) more foreign language resources...

A translation tool would be very useful for those who have difficulties with other languages.

I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be nice if deepl could be implemented.

Chinese is my first language but I also get fluent in English after living in the United States for 30 some years. From time to time, I still need translation help from English to Chinese to understand meaning of English word. It would be a valuable help and tool if Logos software could add word translation capability on select words in any library documents.

Will they be able to include an English translator in the logos library, for books published in English?

  • Thank very much
  • Recently,  I find Open AI does much better translation job than the Google translation now (normal commentaries), I try this manually. Can I suggest, if logos can have options to offer this function into the tool(translating by Open AI) ?
