Too many ads

It seems like my Logos software is becoming more and more (and more) like Face Book, You Tube, etc everyday in that we're bombarded with advertisements. Further, it is very frustrating when I see a graphic that I like in the media tab, I click on it, and find out that I have to pay FaithLife $20 per month to get it. I can't afford an additional $20 per month. It used to be you get get some decent graphic on Logos which was a part of the package. Now you want us to pay for it. Yep, like Facebook, You tube.

There is still a TON of free graphics that you get with Logos if I am not mistaken. Just make sure you aren't searching for Pro Media.
In fairness, that is not really an ad.0 -
@rdavis7684-96, I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying. Are you referring to the homepage or various third-party media sections in our guides? We do integrate with some third-party media subscription services, but you're free to turn them off if you don't find that helpful.
Can you clarify that you're asking us to do here? Stop allowing users to integrate with third-party media? That seems like a disservice to those who use it. Seems better to just have users who don't want to see it turn it off, doesn't it?0 -

David & Phil,
You both are Faithlife sales representatives. In my original complaint, instead of "Further" I should have said, "For example." You are one of many folks advertising now throughout Logos. For example, I looked up a verse in Romans today, and up pops a long list of books that they want me to buy. When I'm using Logos, I'm studying the Word of God and I do not wish to be bombarded with Christian Media Materialism. Two points:
1. Yes, how do we turn off all the ads from flooding our time with God while in the Word of God.
2. As I previously said to David, my original intent was for my complaint to go to Logos Executive leadership. Instead, someone "passed the buck" to you guys, just one of the many advertisers now invading our use of our Logos software that we already paid dearly for. As I asked David, please forward my concern back to Logos Executive leadership.
In Christ,

When I open a Bible, I see absolutely no ads in it.
When I open Logos/Faithlife, I see more ads than I do books; and, I supposedly have 4400+ books.
While I cannot imagine WHY, I do suspect some people love seeing all the ads in their Logos homepage.
I am not one of them.
Personally, I don't want to see Shakespeare, novels, fiction, or non-fiction.
What I do want to see is Bibles, Commentaries, Biblical Languages, etc.
So, my feedback is, dump the ads in the program. There's plenty of selling opportunities to sell on the website, email, texts, physical mail, TV, radio, where ever. BUT, ads do NOT belong in what is our Bibles. Or, what you call our library.
For those who, for whatever reason, want the ads. So, let them turn on the ads, but, for the rest of us, they should be off by default. Every last sales pitch.0 -
I agree. There are too many ads especially in the explore section of the dashboard. I have to wade through all the ads just to get to the stuff that's useful.0

It seems most of the complaints are against the default view of the Explore section of the Home Page .
I have whittled down the options displayed under the Explore section to "Lecture Hall", "Logos Live", and "Ministry Corner" -- all articles and "radio" interviews from Logos Word by Word (the formerly named Logos Academic Blog). I haven't seen any ads or sales listed amongst them.
To set the sections to display, click on the Settings gear icon on the far right of the Explore section. Deselect what you don't want to see. You might want to select each section by itself one-by-one to see what that section shows you. And if you don't want to see anything in the Explore section, deselect Everything."Ever learning and always adding to my knowledge of the Truth"
