Lock old presentations

I keep getting folk trying to update old presentations. It seems they just open the last presentation they had open, amend the date and make edits. They forget to open the current working copy. Multiple people do this, so I've then got multiple places to update from.
Could there be a lock (unlockable) applied to old presentations?

    We have this problem often since we do music practice for the coming week Sunday after service. The volunteer tendency is to change the service date of the file that is open instead of opening the new file.
