Dear Logos,
Thank you for getting these volumes published from WordSearch.

BUT, please fix the formatting for these volumes. The paragraph and indentation formatting make these volumes nearly unreadable. They look as if the text files were simply imported and kept completely as is.

These are the most unprofessional looking resources I have ever seen in Logos! These are not up to your typical standards. Please fix these files as soon as possible. They should not have been released in this condition!

Some, but not all, of these volumes have been converted to "Logos Research" editions; the rest are still Ebooks, which have a lower quality standard. They will be upgraded to higher quality over time. Which volumes are you seeing the most problems in?

We thought it was important to initially deliver these resources to you as quickly as possible, even if the quality was lower than Logos is typically known for; see https://community.logos.com/forums/p/193938/1117970.aspx#1117970. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Bradley,

Thanks for the response! Based on a quick perusal of these resources:

    Matthew - OK
    Mark - OK
    Luke - OK
John - Extremely serious formatting problems. Paragraphs have neither first line indentation nor space between paragraphs, making it nearly impossible to follow. Outlines are not properly formatted at all. *Andreas J. Köstenberger's name is misspelled twice!*
    Acts - OK
Romans - Outline formatting is missing. Section headings have no spacing between them. Most of the rest of the text is acceptable.
    2 Corinthians - OK
    Ephesians - OK
Philippians - Bibliography and abbreviation list formatting is considerably different than other volumes. I can't describe the opening pages properly, but you NEED to open this resource in Logos to see the front matter, which is highly "unprofessional" looking. In general, the text is OK.
Colossians & Philemon - Front matter is (I intend this as kindly as possible, here) quite nearly a total disaster. Outline and paragraph formatting are unreadable. I bought this book in print when it was FIRST published and it has been a prized scholarly resource. I have been waiting for YEARS for this to be available in Logos--I can only say that I was severely heart-broken to see it in this condition!
    Hebrews - OK
1 Peter - Paragraph and outline formatting don't exist.

General considerations: When I search for "EGGNT" in my Library, the Titles of these resources are variously named. They are all from the same collection, so they should be consistent--as well as have similar covers. Several of the resources have the covers "inside the resource" rather than a "Title page" which is highly irregular. These are also listed as "Bible Commentary" resources Types, except for Romans, which is Typed as "Monograph." When opened, these resources are also displayed with various, inconsistent titles in the window title bar.

I can *fully* appreciate Logos wanting to get these volumes out quickly. After all, these resources are highly sought after--especially by me! However, for Logos to publish them in such a condition is, in my opinion (and I am trying to be loving here), highly unprofessional and reflects negatively on Logos and Faithlife as a whole. I have been with Logos Bible Software since 2.0 (or earlier), and I have not *ever* seen resources like these before.

I have done proof-reading for B&H Academic (and I would LOVE to do the same work for Logos), and my goal has always been to protect the author's and the publisher's credibility. If I fail as a proof-reader, readers have less confidence in the author and publisher. These newly published resources give me less confidence in future Logos resources.

I would "prefer" that Logos simply pull these resources from publication until they get fixed (if that is even possible).

Thanks for listening to my concerns.

Grace and Peace be with you all.

@gregory-c-wolff-81 The volumes you have identified are all still "Ebook" editions. (The "Edition" column can be turned on in the Library, or is visible in each resource's Information screen.)

    > I would "prefer" that Logos simply pull these resources from publication until they get fixed (if that is even possible).

We can't do that (without removing them from all customers who have them). However, you can "pretend" that they don't exist by hiding those volumes; see https://wiki.logos.com/Hiding_Books
When this feedback item is marked as "Done", go back to Program Settings and unhide the EGGNT volumes. The latest, upgraded editions will download and they will function as you expect.

Philippians was updated this morning and it looks much better. There are still a few tweaks that need to be done on the Main Outline for the book, but this is a great improvement over its state of affairs yesterday.

    Thanks!

@Bradley Grainger  Any updates on when Romans will be converted to Logos Research Edition?

@Matthew Lau  Thanks for the heads up. We've got a case in to bump it to a Research edition.

@Kyle G. Anderson  Has Romans been converted? Under the information panel, I see it's still marked as Reader Edition but now there are indexes like the Research edition.

@Matthew Lau  Yes. It's been converted. We missed updating a piece of metadata. Thanks for letting us know. The metadata has been updated.
