Priorities a Layout when entering a Bible Passage in the Search Field

Currently it is a gamble what Logos does when you enter a Bible Passage and just press enter. Sometimes the Passage Layout opens, sometimes a Bible and only one commentary..

Right now my workflow is to enter a passage, then wait a moment that all the options pop up, and the klick on Open Passage Study Layout, which is really bothering me. It would be so much faster if you just type the Bible Passage and press Enter, without waiting and know what Logos will do.

My solution would be to add a setting where we can prioritise one option, and then when we quickly type a Bible Passage and hit enter this option will always happen. For example in my case, always the Bible Study Layout will open

  • I am sympathetic to your request, but FL would have to cater to other users (who have similar issues with bible passages) and be pragmatic. So presenting all Command options in a Setting would be onerous, and I think the choices would likely be:
. Default (current Command Box behaviour)
. Look Up (in Preferred Bible)
    . Reading Aloud
. Layouts (select your layout from Command Box)
. Search (select the type of Search from Command Box)
Layouts and Search options would change over time, but the above Settings should be effective in terms of speed and utility if it is understood that the Command Box would present only what is chosen e.g. Layouts only.
Books and Tools (i.e. Factbook) could be added to the list.

@Dave Hooton  what do you mean with "select Layout from Command Box"?

One other solution would be to introduce keyboard shortcuts. e.g. you press Command + P to open a passage Layout or Command + S to open up the search.
