IMPORTANT: Application update issue for Windows users in v38 Beta 3
This is an important update for users on Windows running v38 Beta 1 or Beta 2 of Logos or Verbum. The Mac version of Logos is unaffected.
When Windows installations of Logos update from v38 Beta 1 or Beta 2 to v38 Beta 3 next week, you may encounter a crash on startup. To fix this issue, a one-time repair of your installation should resolve the issue. Instructions on how to repair your installation of Logos can be found here.
This is required to fix the crash on startup in version 38 as reported in threads such as Crash Opening Verbum Beta 2 (38.0.548), Crash opening Verbum Beta 2 (v38), and Logos beta crashes after title screen. Users who repaired their installation in v38 Beta 1 or Beta 2 may need to repair their installation one more time in Beta 3.Thank you to everyone who reported this issue and for your continued participation in the Logos Beta Program. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Beta 3 will be shipping soon. This is another reminder that Windows users may encounter an error and may need to perform a one-time repair to resolve the issue.

Using the appwiz.cpl seems to help. Also reminded me that asking the program designer: "Are you sure your software works" can be regarded almost as job violence.

None of the solutions worked for me… it keeps saying that I must update some of my resources. I have reinstalled a couple of times, but it didn't work.

I uninstalled and reinstalled without seeing this. When I try and open the clean install, I get this error message
Is there a way to get to the beta channel without being able to open the program?

This error happens when you try to run an older version of the software without first completely uninstalling the newer version of the software and all of the data files. There are direct links to the beta installers in the pinned Beta information post that you can use to install the latest beta.

I don't understand what I am supposed to do… how can I get additional help?

run appwiz.cpl fom the WIndows command bar or from the app search (which is just a fast way to open the program installation menu of the system), from the list of installed programs select Logos (or Verbum). The menu bar will offer you to deinstall or repair - choose Repar. That's it.

Thanks Andrew, I thought I had deleted all of the files, but I guess I missed one. It had been a long time since I had read the beta introduction post, so I didn't remember there was a direct link.

The "repair" procedure didn't work!

If the repair procedure doesn't work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling. I understand that takes a bit more time, which is why we try to avoid it, but if repairing doesn't work, an uninstall and reinstall is a good next step.
