39.0 Beta 3 Has Broken Sermon Notes/Editor
I started a new document by typing:
1 john 4 7-8 Enter Enter Enter Enter Enter
1 john 4 9Enter Enter Enter Enter Enter
If I try to move the cursor anywhere in the document, it jumps around back and forth. If I click enough times, it will eventually stay on the line I want.
If I close the document and reopen it, none of my work is saved.

If I open a previously created document, it works fine, so I duplicated a previous document and deleted everything out, renamed it, and everything works fine. It's only starting a new document which doesn't work.

Wondering if Logos was broken? I cannot edit a new document once I copy from the A.I. Generated text. It always goes to the bottom and I cannot give my sermon a name. It says Untitled Sermon (x) replace x with a number.

Hi Joseph, sorry you're running into this issue. I will take a look and get a case created for the team.

Hi @Joseph Turner. If you're still experiencing this issue, could you please try to reproduce it and then capture and upload your logs here?

I am experiencing the exact same issues with the sermon builder. It won't save the work and can't change the title of any sermon. Very frustrating, but hoping it's fixed soon.

If you will just start with one of your older documents, duplicate it under the document settings, erase everthing in it, and then start it as a new document, it will not have the issues described. Obviously that's not a long term solution, but it works for the time being. I'm sure they'll get it sorted soon.

Thank you for providing logs Joseph. Are you running into this on just the desktop or mobile app as well?

Curiouser and curiouser…
That's a good question and I had not messed with it.
I started a new sermon on Windows and typed a few things. It would not allow me to move the cursor back or anywhere other than "return." If I click in one spot a whole bunch of times it will eventually move the cursor there.
I then went on my iphone, and it will not allow me to edit any sermon at all. I'm not sure if this is by design or not (iphone allowing editing). I've never tried to edit a document on my iPhone.
However, I was able to open the sermon on my iPad, but the text typed on Windows did not show up, even after I synced everthing, so I typed text on the iPad and synced both again, and what I did on the iPad then appeared on Windows, deleting what I had actually typed on Windows, and now I could type in all of the "Normal" fields.
When I then changed the name of the document in the top field, it then made the document unusable on Windows, but it synced to the iPad, and when I then typed new information on the iPad and synced back, it allowed Windows to work again.
If I change the title of the document on Windows, then it makes the document unusable in Windows.
It also seems to act the same way if I change the text in the original "Heading" field that is automatically added to a new document.
Anytime something doesn't work in the document on Windows, typing on the iPad and syncing makes the document usable on Windows as long as I don't try to change the title.

Still persistent in Rc1. I am on a M2 Mac book pro.

Cannot insert new text. It defaults to the bottom of the screen.

I can attest this is still happening in v39, RC1. This is a very frustrating bug as it renders the sermon builder unusable. However, I can confirm what Joseph says about copying an old document and then erasing everything and starting fresh. That will at least allow me to work when needed.

@Savanna Lineberger I'm attaching my logs as well. I do believe the sermon builder is broken. I am on a MacBook Pro, M1 Pro. I don't use sermon builder on my iPad or Phone so I can't attest to it.

Thank you for your logs as well, Josh. We are still looking into this issue.

Have to give a seminar on using Logos in sermon prep. That is today at 5:30 Est. Hoping for a miracle that it is repaired by then. I am using a M2 Mac Book pro. Would a complete re-index and switching to stable channel resolve the issue?

If so how should I remove the index file to trigger a rebuild of it. Would only take about half an hour based on the timeline when I first installed Logos on the computer.

I can confirm this bug is fixed in RC2 that was released 1/14/25. Yay! Thanks for all you all do!

Hello Brothers and Sisters! I'm new to the community but not to LOGOS. I started about 10 yrs ago and have not yet gotten the hang of the system! 😣 It takes me too much time to accomplish anything of significance.
I'd like some suggestions about how to get value out of LOGOS. I am the teaching Elder at a small church plant. All suggestions will be appreciated.
