I don't like the default voice in Logos for reading text. Can I change Logos default voice to a Windows voice? If so, how?
To change the default voice in Logos, go to Windows control panel - Ease of Access - Speech Recognition. Then select Text to Speech to the left. In the Speech Properties popup, you can select the voice from the Voice selection dropdown.
However, I don't expect you'll find the other options on Windows to be much of an improvement. Mobile voices currently tend to be far superior. I would thus suggest giving mobile a try instead.
Aaron, Yes, after I went back are reread your message I understood what you were talking about. The reason I asked is that some of Window's voices are easier to understand than others (for me anyway). I got it changed to one that is easier for me to understand, and I'm good to go. Thanks.
This screen has been removed from control panel in Win 11. The new Windows natural voices are still better than the mobile voices, however, they're not available for selection to use with Logos.

Read Aloud narrator voices (multilingual and natural voices) [WINDOWS] — Logos Community
The directions I gave allow you to change voices from the control panel. However, they do not allow one to select a natural voice.
It's only a workaround, and requires a lot of steps for a simple thing like changing between resources in different languages.
As Jan said, in the newer versions of Windows 11 that control panel option is not there anymore. So you have to use the workaround to start sapi.cpl manually. In the post below I wrote about a way to use the Natural voices by installing another piece of software (should work in all versions of Windows 11 and possibly below that):
Apologies @Bernhard and @Jan Krohn. I didn't realize I wasn't running the latest version of Windows 11 on this computer. Looks like this option was just removed from the control panel. Thanks for all of the helpful information.
Are the Mobile voices those voice that come with certain elements of Logos, i.e. ESV bible? I do use those if available, but there are certain things, such as devotionals, that default to whatever the current Windows voice is. Or are the Mobile voices you're referring to something else?
Apologies for being unclear. It is true that a very limited number of resources (including the ESV as you mentioned) have a dedicated reading voice. Unfortunately, that voice only works for that single resource. When I referred to "mobile voices", I was referring to the default reading voices on mobile devices. Usually, the default reading voice on a modern mobile phone or tablet will be superior to the default voice that is available for use in Logos on Windows.
Windows has developed better voices, but unfortunately they are not yet able to be used in Logos. If this is important to you, it sounds like @Bernhard may have found a workaround to enable this functionality. Personally, I just pull out my phone when I want to listen to a resource.
Hello, As you know, JW's don't believe in the Trinity. That is my first question. What passages of Scripture can I use to show them the Trinity? We know the Trinity is not in the Bible but the concept of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are the Trinity. Second point- they do not believe that Jesus was…
What I would like to do: I would like to add a highlight to Origen's homily in Origen. Homilies on Genesis and Exodus. Edited by Hermigild Dressler. Translated by Ronald E. Heine. Vol. 71. The Fathers of the Church. Washington, DC: The Catholic University of America Press, 1982. that indicates it is quoted by Louth,…
How do I go about changing my email on LOGOS? Do I change it on both the app, and the community? Thank you.
I made some notes on mobile today in a notes document. When I got back to the house, they were discarded by Logos during sync. How can I recover them?
I am using Android Logos v40.0.0. When I opened a timeline picture (e.g. The Life of Abraham) in FSB Infographics, it appeared in very low resolution. Reading the text inside the picture is impossible.
