Is there a major bug in the clause search?

I think the English is hard-coded into the Clause Database being searched.
If you type
verb:
an autocompleter should pop up that shows you valid options. (Valid forverb:
but may not find results in combination with your other search terms.) For example, the following works for LHB:subject:A Man verb:speak

But the cookbook page offers me an English verb option
Where does the English come from? In trying to support a particular forumite, I couldn't get a verb to work.
