Selecting "Active Reference" in one NASB window also automatically and unintentionally sets another NASB window to Active Reference.  See attached for details and logs.

I confirmed this behavior...both when "copying a tab" to duplicate the NASB and also hitting the + button; all resulted in the active reference being duped on all tabs when only one is changed back and forth.

Thanks for the very detailed bug report!

This is by design, and is probably a terminology problem more than anything else.  What are you are changing is whether the (possibly poorly named) "Active Reference" visual filter is applied to NASB windows. This visual filter looks at the active reference(s) in other panels and highlights them in the panel with the "Active Reference" filter turned on. This can be useful when opening a grammar or lexicon from the Exegetical Guide; the article that opens might cite a lot of Bible verses and it's handy to know if your current verse is given as one of the examples.

Visual filters are applied to resources, so every panel that contains that resource gets the same visual filters.

What you might be thinking of as "Active Reference" is now called "Send hyperlinks here" and is accessed from the panel menu. This makes the selected panel the "reference target" (to use the LDLS3 term), and can be applied to one copy of the NASB but not the other.

    Thank you Bradley,

Yes, I was thinking "Send hyperlinks here." Now I need to play with "Active Reference" more so I understand it better.  Your example helps.  I feel we need a glossary of Logos v4 terms with a bidirectional cross reference to v3 terms.  It might help smooth and expedite our transition to v4.

I notice the highlight only happens when the exact verse is located.

Take your screenshot as an example, Genesis 46:1 must be at the top of the NASB window for Active Reference to highlight the Gen 46:1 reference in the BDB window.

Is it possible to have Active Reference highlights all references that appear (i.e. not just located at the top) in the other window?  I think this behavior would make the Active Reference more "active."

And also to reinforce my previous bug report, that "Active Reference" settings are not stored either for individual resources, or as part of a saved layout.

This visual filter has to be manually reactivated every time.

i'm not sure that would be meaningful. As used it is saying "the (original language) word you found/keylinked at that reference is specifically mentioned here" as opposed to "that reference is also mentioned here", but can you find that reference in the sea of all references?
