How do I use Text Comparison with Collections in the Mobile App?

In the mobile app, how do I compare Bibles other than those in my top 5? Even after reading through the help article on using the Text Comparison tool in the mobile app, I'm still at a loss as to how to choose a different collection of Bibles for comparison.

I have multiple collections of Bibles set up in the desktop app:

If I attempt a search in the mobile app, I can see these collections:

However, none of the collections show up when I'm in the Text Comparison tool, nor can I figure out how to make them show up:

Also, regarding the image directly above, why are these collections the ones showing up? Except for the A&P collection, none of the others contains Bibles. However, I digress. The main question remains, how do I compare Bibles, in the mobile app, that are outside my top 5?

@Yasmin Stephen I have opened a ticket that Text Comparison should only offer collections that can generate results.

Currently our Mobile app cannot meaningfully interact with Collections created using Dynamic Rules. So for the time being, you do need to redo the collections you wish to use on Mobile.

I can understand that many would like to use collections created using Dynamic Rules in Mobile. I suggest making a feature request to this effect.

Well, bated breath (Merchant of Venice 1605) seems appropriate. Mobile TC always a mystery.

Always a mystery to me as well, one that I'm hoping Logos will solve for me. The help article and video so confidently assure me that I can compare other Bibles once they're in collections, I'm convinced the problem is me, that I'm just not doing the right thing!

All of my collections are showing up as options in "Resource Collections" (Android v39). As to your final question, I believe all collections are supposed to be displayed here (based on my results). Therefore the puzzling question is why are your other collections not showing up?

I would be interested in knowing the date these collections were created. It is possible that the tool is showing your more recent collections but is not recognizing the older ones. I would recommend creating a new collection to see if that shows up.

These are definitely older collections, and these are the only ones I've ever seen when I've tried to use the TC tool on collections in the mobile app. Also, I created about 5 new Bible collections yesterday, none of which are showing up.

As you're able to see them all on your Android device, I would like to hear from other iOS users if they are able to see all their collections in the mobile app, to determine whether the problem is with my installation.

I have added the bug tag for now, as it seems there may be a discrepancy here between iOS and Android.

That may be so; I deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled and the issues persists.

@Yasmin Stephen Could you tell us the Bibles included in one of these collections? Perhaps Bibles1?

Bible1 contains 4 of my top 5 Bibles, and these are already represented in the TC tool. The Bible2 collection includes:

    1. HCSB
    2. LSB
    3. MEV
    4. NET (noteless)
    5. NLT

@Yasmin Stephen We can't duplicate this behavior in iOS using a collection identical to your "Bible2" collection.

Please post your mobile logs in this thread, or email them to cs@logos.com be sure to link or refer to this thread.

@Yasmin Stephen Thanks for your logs.

Please try the following as an experiment.

    1. On Logos Desktop create a new collection that includes everything in your Bible2 collection. Don't use any dynamic rules, simply drag and drop the individual books from Library one by one directly into the category "Plus these books". Give this collection a name so that you can easily distinguish it from your Bible2 collection.
    2. Open the Text Comparison Tool. Can you use this new collection in this tool and get the expected results?
    3. If so, close Logos Desktop, open Logos Mobile and try to use this collection from Text Comparison.

#1 - new collection created (TC Books)

#2 - new collection works with desktop TC tool

#3 - new collection is now visible and works in mobile app

Does that mean I have to redo all my Bible collections in this manner? I only have 16 of them 😛

Also, is there a way to remove non-Bible collections from the list?

Well, Yasmin, that took some work. Who knew? I use tags, so I lucked out on the mobile I don't use.

No offense to Joe, but customers need to ask Logos to design their software a little more carefully (ie a server sub-routine to convert rules to items)? How many years? I'm just surprised for something so basic.
