Hi. I just watched a training video led by Morris Proctor. In the video, he explained how to use the Thompson Chain Reference Bible Library when Logos offered that resource. It looks like a great resource and I would love to see you folks offer it again. Is that possible that you will offer this resource again? Thanks.

Thanks for posting this response Dal. I knew that Logos used to have this resource in it's older version, but if I can ask, what version offered it? I thought perhaps it would be still avialable in some of the older libraries.

I have it both in Logos and in physical form and I love using it. It is one of my go-to topical resources.

Kirkbride sold the Thompson Chain Reference Bible to Zondervan/HarperCollins, which is why we have temporarily stopped offering it. We have the KJV version of the notes in production with a new license in place.

Zondervan also offers the TCRB notes in NIV, ESV, NASB, and NKJV. I don't see the value in producing all of the various version of the notes, but besides the KJV already in production, what version of the TCRB notes would some of you want to see developed?

I personally would like to see the NIV (although Zondervan is notorious for not making things available to international customers, even outside of the eBook store - yes, I'm still having https://www.logos.com/product/192576/niv-study-bible-notes in my wish list - so even if you were to produce it I'm not betting money on being able to buy it).

We had to cease offering the Kirkbride version and license the HarperCollins version. I have no idea what the differences will be in the new version, but it is in production and will be available for purchase as soon as it is completed. My apologies, but I don't have a release date for it right now.

I am not asking for a specific date, but do you have an approximation of when the new TCRB may be offered? And, will it only be available to those who choose to subscribe? Thanks.

@Clayton Desjarlais there's not a projected release date in our internal database yet, but I would assume "sometime this year" (2025), which I realize is not all that helpful. Hopefully, it will be available to pre-order in the next month or two. Don't hold me to this as an ironclad promise, but from notes on the project, it will probably be priced at $19.99.

As for availability, anyone who wants to should be able to purchase it—just like any other study Bible—subscription or not.

I'm familiar with what we had in Logos when the Thompson Chain was available from Kirkbride. I have all of those resources in my own personal Logos library from back before I even worked here. I don't know the extent of what we will offer just yet. I assume that we will make available everything in the print edition from Zondervan/HarperCollins. I don't currently know more than this at the moment, though.

Hi, Rick. I just stumbled upon the link I am sending. It does not say Thompson Chain Reference Library but it implies it in the write-up below the Bible. Please let me know if it's just the Bible or the additional Library? For me the cost does not give any indication. Thanks.

Hi, Rick. Because I have no idea about this, I am asking the question. Is it possible for you to transfer a Thompson Chain Reference Library licence copy to me? If so, how is that done and what is the cost to me? Thanks.

Somebody who is an owner of that license (bought by itself, not as part of a package, and not with an academic discount) would need to sell or gift it to you. Then you'd have to pay a transfer fee - which used to be $20, and applies per transfer of licenses from one user to another, regardless how many licenses - and Logos would perform the transfer.

Yes, the seller loses access to the product. The licence transfer works like the transfer of a physical item; if I sold or gave away my print copy of the TCR (if I had one 😛), I would no longer have that copy.

@Clayton Desjarlais It's against forum guidelines to attempt to sell or buy anything (including Logos products) here. There's a Facebook group for buying/selling Logos resources but I don't remember the name; hopefully, someone will come by and help with that.
