Thanks to both of you. I just couldn't imagine them doing away with the entire forum. MJ: I have benefitted so much from the PBs you have posted (I'm immediately thinking of the collections of creeds). It would be a huge loss for those types of things to no longer be available.
Thanks to both of you.
i think it was an attempt to discourage personal books.
No. There was a desire to have greater organization, so subforums were created. No conspiracy.

I can confirm what JT said. Users had complained about there being too many forums and it was hard to find stuff, so they introduced more of a hierarchy, moving old beta forums into subforums and such. Maybe they went overboard with moving the Files forum into a subforum of Desktop. But there was no intent to discourage the use of personal books.
The threads from the Files subforum should all have been tagged "Files" in the conversion. This tag can be used as a filter:
and I have added it to the original post in this thread - just clicking that will show all threads tagged. Threads where PBs are shared should all be tagged acordingly in the future, allowing to find them more easily than in a subforum.Have joy in the Lord!
Hey everyone, I wanted to jump back in and share a few thoughts!
First and foremost, no changes to the community were made to discourage the use of Personal Books or any other part of our applications—there’s no conspiracy here! The goal of this new space is to improve and expand the community beyond the siloed forums, making it more accessible and helpful for everyone. If you ever feel otherwise, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally or email community@logos.com with any questions or concerns. We’re here to help!
A quick note on Files—it’s now a tag, not a subforum. The main forums are organized by our core products (Logos, Verbum, Proclaim, and Books), while features and tools—like Personal Books—are filterable through tags. We understand that shifting away from so many separate subforums is an adjustment, but having a more communal space helps keep the conversation flowing and makes it easier for everyone to learn from each other. In fact, the sheer number of subforums before was a major barrier for new community members.
If you’re looking for Personal Books, we’ve got you covered! There’s still plenty of information and an archive available in the Logos User Wiki, which we’re actively improving now that it’s migrated. You can find everything you need—including User-Contributed Personal Books—right here: https://community.logos.com/kb/articles/2181 .
One last tip: Try out the community SEARCH feature! It’s amazing (and only getting better!). I did a quick search for “Personal Books” and easily found our wiki article, plus related discussions and support articles. It’s a powerful tool to help you find exactly what you need!
Hope that helps, and thanks for being part of this community!

@Jason Stone (Logos) is it possible to have a notification preference for new posts and comments available for "Tagged" posts and a choice of tags to be notified on?
Too soon old. Too late smart.
Oh, how I wish that were true. Unfortuantely, I do not believe that ("First and foremost, no changes to the community were made to discourage the use of Personal Books or any other part of our applications"). It fits perfectly well with Logos' long-time history of discouraging user innovation and driving everything towarad paid content. (even seeking to shut down others' lists of personal books they have made on their own websites).
I posted this almost a year ago and still (after numerous attempts) have failed to find the illusive Personal Book Files "tag". Even MJ's (who I hold in the highest regard) link supposedly to it, is a dead link. When I put in "Personal Books" or "Files" all I get are articles about personal books, not the actual files.
I have been a user since the 1990s (back when we received the program on 3.5" discs). I have contributed many PBs to the file section. If I, a long-time user cannot navigate this labyrinthine system, what hope does a new user have?
@Calvin Habig, the link is broken but it was listed correctly by @NB.Mick above — it is as follows: https://community.logos.com/discussions/tagged/Files-66

Yes sir, I realize tag notices are not available now, I was wondering if they could be made available.
My reasoning which may not be correct, is if It would help me be more selective in what I receive in my inbox to some of the post types that you have consolidated into the English forum that I used to be able to get without all the other clutter in the old forums. Files was only an example. I hope that makes sense.
I understand that the "new" is to appeal to mobile users and improve accessibility to them and those who want to spend a lot of time on the internet in forums, but in doing so the design has made it more difficult for those of us who don't, and only want to be notified, by email, of threads that are important to us. We must take it all or nothing from the English forum. I know I can't change that back, I 'm just trying to find a way to mitigate the damage caused to my workflow in Outlook and still participate in what I'm interested in the forum without having to come here and wade through all the posts and that can't be done through the current notification preferences.
Thank you for listening and for responding @Jason Stone (Logos)

That’s a good idea! Unfortunately, we can’t subscribe to email notifications about specific tags (like Files) right now. However, we’ll keep an eye out and see if we can make that happen in the future.

Hi @Jason Stone (Logos) thanks for the follow up. Hopefully it will become available in the future then.
Thank you for responding!

@Jason Stone (Logos) - there appears to be a problem with this link.
@L.A. try this link:
You are right that /files-66 does not appear to be working any longer. I had merged a number of items to get them together and they all live here at "/files" instead of "/files-66": https://community.logos.com/discussions/tagged/files. Thank you, @Donovan R. Palmer.
We hear your feedback and are working to make improvements. I'm curious, did you try to use the community's search tool to narrow down either the articles or the community forum posts? I did a search for personal books
and first selected Posts
and then selected Articles
. I have attached two screenshots as examples.

It is a subforum at the bottom of the Desktop app
