The collections tool can't count very well

The library and the collection tool disagree on the resource count although selecting the same resources.

Could the discrepancy have to do with either print library or cloud non-downloaded resources?

I believe the Collection tool counts all of the books, but only displays downloaded books. Note how the total is 60, but the sum of the individual groups matches what is displayed in the library (41).
The library, when filtering by a collection is only going to show downloaded books.
This is a limitation we would like to remove at some point, but I don't have any idea when this will happen.

Good thought but I've not added print library books here because I intend to cull any print book duplicates I find. I had actually made sure all the books were downloaded as I was trying to document a parallel resources issue. You will notice that the subtotals on the types match - it is only the grand total that is in error.

I thought I had downloaded all the relevant books. If your answer is correct, how do I view the books still in the clouds to give Eli an accurate list?

That is my point. The grand total in the Collections tool is actually the correct one (meaning includes all books regardless of download state). In the Collections tool the group count and the books actually displayed are only the downloaded ones.

I don't understand your question. Who is Eli and what are you trying to give an accurate list of?
There isn't a great way to view the list of undownloaded books that are members of a collection. There are only one or two places that use collections that pay attention to cloud resources (possibly Smart Books search?). The entire rest of the application only uses local resources when it comes to collections.
I'm assuming you put the Collection's query text in the Library and downloaded all the resulting files. Unfortunately, there could be resources that were manually added that are not currently downloaded, and those won't be visible in the Collections tool.

If you are trying to detect incorrect metadata, I would use a library search, not a collection for that purpose.

Unfortunately, the first step must be identifying the books for which you need to check the metadata. I've been using the library and the collection in tandem.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think you might be able to do a Books search on your collection for a common word, which I think will return results from cloud and print library books.

Not my experience as the Collection tool only includes downloaded (I have Cloud books but no Print Library). Library will include Cloud if I use the collection rule as a filter, but the sidebar Collection name only shows downloaded as per the Collection tool. Win 11, Logos v41.1
But there is a bug as shown below, after I dragged a cloud book into
Plus these books
.Note the absence of the "Drop books…." text and the increased count of 45.
The count of 44 is restored when I re-create the collection.Dave
