May I know is this just me? OR it's missing from the resources of LXX Swete?
It's at ESV Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
Steps :
I can only use the web app currently so I ran a Bible word search on φιλαδελφία and then ran a LXX search using the Septuagint with Logos Morphology which is my current priority for LXX. The word came up in three verses in Maccabees
Then I changed it to Swete and it had the same three verses.
If you were looking for the results in the guide under the LXX tab I don't get any results there either. To really check it you have to run the search against the LXX itself.
Okay that make sense. thank you, Matt! ☺️
for those who wanna know why it made sense : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septuagint#:~:text=Perhaps%20most%20significant%20for%20the,contemporary%20Hebrew%20scriptures%20were%20discovered.
I have duplicated the word study to show different parts:
Yes, thank you Nichtnur, I've figured that due to Hebrew scrolls doesn't have Maccabees books, so it won't return any result as the Septuagint Translation were suppose to get the Hebrew word used found in Hebrew scrolls. 😊
I think the issue is the LXX doesn't translate the NT (Hebrews). The LXX does contain the four Maccabees and thus searches find the instances.
Interesting factoid: Both Eusebius and Jerome assigned 4 Macc to Josephus, and therefore its inclusion in later Josephus collections.
Has anyone created a personal book yet of Pope Francis' final encyclical Dilexit Nos? I think it may be ten years before Logos catches up with Francis' works and am wondering if someone else has saved us the effort.
As far as I know it has never been on sale. Its main competitor, Anchor Bible Dictionary is cheaper and even included in libraries. Meanwhile NIDB remains very expensive and unaffordable. I wonder how well it actually sells. Time to approach Abingdon to negotiate a deal on this title?
2 questions. Does Logos or anyone know of or have a Modern Greek Translation recommendation? Does Logos or anyone know of or have a Modern Greek Translation with a NT Greek Interlinear I am taking a modern Greek class and think it would be interesting to have.
Anyone familiar with this Systematic series, called We Believe. There is currently 3 volumes available on Logos. Want to know if someone has read some and can give advice if its worth adding.
Is anyone familiar with this bundle? It states it comes with a custom workflow but no workflow is listed in the contents.
