Windows 11 latest beta.
Typos will be underlined in red but right clicking them will not offer any spelling suggestions - just add word to dictionary.
Restarting did not solve the issue.
Bump for attention
Thank you for reporting this, Morgan. This is a bug and the team will get that fixed.
Was there any resolution to this? I'm currently experiencing this problem as well.
We are pretty confident we found the cause and we know how to fix it. Unfortunately, it involves a larger underlying change, which are actively working on, and planning to ship in v44. Until then, we'll consider this a "known issue." I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
BUMP!
I'm not sure what you want. V43 is in beta 2; the patch is targeted for V44 which means it is still 8 weeks before the fix is to be expected.
@MJ.SMITH…. Not sure what you mean…… What do I want? Spell Check to work… Paid for subscription service with Thousands invested over two decades…. Just want the Sermon Planner to spell check properly… Traditionally in the last two decades of the Internet being a thing, BUMP means, bring to attention, update requested, please don't ignore…. Etc.… Pretty Self-explanatory….
As for the timeline for update and repair, none was given in this thread in the official response. So, you must have more information than is presented here. Thank you for that update. Pastoring a church revitalization in Vermont, not a lot of time to surf the forums to figure out why things do not work as advertised. There is Local Kingdom work to accomplish.
According to Adam's comment in this thread, the fix is planned to be shipped in v44.
While waiting patiently and politely for the fix to be shipped, you could open your sermon documents in the web app and utilise the spell checker there. That's particularly useful if you have a Grammarly extension.
More context here:
I agree. Having a word processor with a broken spell checker is bad. Telling everyone, "its a known problem" (ie. "just deal with it for 2+ months"—my perception) doesn't make it better. Telling people to change their processes and use the web that isn't good either. I can be patient and understanding but being required to wait for 2+ months for such a fundamental problem doesn't reflect a compensatory degree of expediency and understanding.
Luke, it's precisely because it's fundamental that it can't be expedient. As per my explanation above, CEF is a major foundational framework in the desktop software. To make a construction analogy, this isn't just fixing a broken floor tile; it's replacing the support beam under the floor. As I said before, I know that doesn't make it any less frustrating in the meantime, but I hope you can appreciate that we'd rather do it right than fast.
I would have hoped that an organization like Logos, one that I have been paying for and supporting since it was called Libronix… would attempt to make it right. Especially since the service is now subscription based. I literally am paying monthly for a service that is not fully functional, but at the full cost. I know someone will inevitably split hairs and say that Sermon Manager portion of the software isn't part of the subscription, however, I am still dropping cash monthly for a broken product.
I only comment because I think that any company who is pursuing excellence should know the feelings their decisions elicit from their customers. Honestly, the lack of functionality and lack of effort to "make it right" with the customer, and the tone of this thread, makes me feel unwanted and unvalued as a customer.
Adam, no one is suggesting a rush of the fix. I am suggesting the way Logos has handled this could be profoundly better. I didn't even know why this major issue was happening on my computer until I had wasted hours on my own trying to fix it, thinking it was local, and then found this thread literally months later. Some communication from Logos when the issue was first discovered would have been greatly appreciated.
Show that you value your customers. Without them, no one over at Logos has a job.
Patiently awaiting the Jesus Jukes…. Let the Juking Begin…
Colossians 3:23
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
William, I've tried to be both apologetic and forthright; I'm sorry if the tone of anything I've said has sounded dismissive or anything less than sympathetic.
How would you like us to make it right?
