I purchased the early church fathers and now the program will not open. It shows the little opening block and then it goes away. It just blinks.

I did shut the computer down and then started it. This did not change anything.
try starting it with Ctrl key pressed down - this may help (cuts issues with layouts, for example), otherwise it will produce diagnostic logs.
NB Mick. I did that and it still just blinks.
look at https://wiki.logos.com/diagnostic_logging to find where your log files are and upload your log files here, that may give a clue to what is happening. Alternatively, call Customer Service and have them help you (they may log into your machine and fix things).

I had erroneously assumed that a sidebar was tightly bound to a panel and that a panel was independent except for consciously added/definitional links. Therefore, I expected all 3 to be called sidebars. What is the distinction that you are making here?
