Can Desktop have the same reading view as that of mobile.
Yes. It has a tag like this at the beginning:
and one like this at the end:
@Justin Gatlin thank you for the reply. But what I mean is for example a reading plan on Bible that is per periscope. Now on mobile you only see that part of the periscope. But on desktop you see the whole chapter and more.
I am sorry, I misunderstood. No, I think the only way on desktop to restrict the view in books is by using Filter by Passage List. @Kristin was looking for a similar feature with search. She may have figured out something.
Hi @Lukas and @Justin Gatlin, to be honest, I read this post a few times to understand what Lukas is trying to accomplish, and I am still not 100% sure if I understand. (I would be happy to try to help if the goal could be clarified a little more, but please be aware that I don't really use mobile). That all said, the one thing I would say is I do NOT recommend the reading plans AT ALL. The reason is because when I was first looking into it as a potential idea I created one as a test just to see how it worked, and through the process I discovered that the author has zero control.
Since this was literally a test, it is called "Untitled" since I hadn't even name it or anything. Yet as the AUTHOR I have zero control. I first tried to edit it, and that didn't work. I then tried to delete it, and that didn't work. I then tried to go to my documents and that didn't work.
To be honest, if this is how it is, I think there needs to be a warning for people that reading plans need to be perfect (with the title you want, all the verses etc) BEFORE anything, since there is NO way to edit and NO way to delete. Justin, if I am mistaken, please let me know how to edit or delete this stupid "untitled" reading plan, but after trying to delete it for literally months I finally gave up and decided to just never mess with them again.
@Kristin Reading plans can indeed be edited and deleted. To edit, open the reading plan in Logos (on desktop) and click Edit. To delete, open Documents, right click on the reading plan, and select Delete.
Hi @Aaron Hamilton,
What you said is what I had expected when I created it. However, I am still having difficulty.
If I write click my ONLY option is to add it to my documents. Yet this is the reading plan I showed above, I am in fact the author. Could you clarify how I can delete it in light of the screenshot I posted above an this?
Are you accessing the reading plan from within the Logos desktop application? I'm not sure what your screenshot is showing me. More context in the screenshot would be helpful.
It is also possible to delete any of your documents at documents.logos.com.
Yes, within the Logos app on my computer I am going to —> Documents —> Groups —> Untitled Reading Plan
If I right click my only option is to add it to my docs, which is true. If I go to "Yours" in my documents it is not there. The only place I can find it is in the "Groups" section of the documents.
I can provide a screenshot if it would help, but I think that might be what you are asking. Also, to be clear, that original screenshot above where it showed I am the author, that was from here in the "Groups" section of my documents.
Hi @Aaron Hamilton, ps - I didn't see this until I posted. I just went to this link and it is not there, since this is only showing my documents, and it is a group document.
Thanks @Kristin; that's helpful.
The reason you cannot delete the reading plan is because it is a group reading plan that could potentially be used by other people within the group you shared it with. To solve this problem, first right-click the document and select Add to your docs. Next go to documents.logos.com and find the document. On the right-hand side, click Actions and select End collaboration. Now you will be able to delete it like any other document.
Hi @Aaron Hamilton, Thank you for your help. I was FINALLY able to even see what the verses even are and I think I see how to delete it. Before I do, however, is there a way to edit it? I would specifically like to edit the title and edit one of the verse references. Is it possible to do that? Or is the only option to delete it?
See my first comment in this thread. Reading plans can be edited by opening them from the Documents menu and selecting Edit. One can also click the pencil to the right of the title to rename.
EDIT: The readings are created automatically based on the parameters you set, but by right-clicking on the individual days, you can make manual adjustments.
I am sure I am missing something obvious, but I don't see an "Edit" on the right like your screenshot. I do see the pencil, but it is as if it is frozen. Clicking it or the name does nothing.
I have to block out the verses because it is a group, but here is a screenshot of what it looks like.
I'm not sure what exactly the situation is with that reading plan, but if it's not important to you I would recommend deleting it and starting over, creating a new plan from a book or Bible.
Hi @Aaron Hamilton, thank you again for your help. I deleted it and it is finally gone. :) I am so grateful to no longer need to stare at an "Untitled Reading Plan" with mystery verses every day. So thank you.
One question I have though, as I ended the collaboration and pressed delete, at some point in the process a little warning box told me that deleting it would not delete it from other people. So if I understand correctly, I created "Untitled Reading Plan" and put it in a group. Then if somebody in the group joins it, it is now in his documents. Thus, now that I deleted it from the group nobody else can join it, but the guy who had joined "Untitled Reading Plan" still has it in his documents with the original verse range, and he will forever have this document created by me unless he personally deletes it. Is this correct??

No. When you end collaboration, all users are disconnected from the document you created.
Hi @Aaron Hamilton, Thanks for clarifying that, and ya, that was the box I saw. When I read it, I sort of focused on "collaboration" and thought it meant that it wouldn't change anything if he clicked "Add to your docs". I primarily thought that since, if I understand correctly, that is the case for PBs. Specifically, if I press "upload" there is no way to ever delete it in a way which would delete it for others as well, and there is nothing which can be done about it if something is accidentally uploaded. So I am grateful this is different. Thank you for clarifying this.
Hello, I have tried everything to delete some (actually: the majority) of the book in my library as I never ordered or asked for them. However, there seems to be no way to do that, neither in the desktop nor the online or the mobile app which to me doesn't seem very user friendly, no? Would anyone know how to do it or is…
How do I change my background from black to white?
I read a book highlighting sections and adding notes as I went. Then I copied them into a notebook. The notebook puts the most recent note on top. So, the notebook is (mostly) in reverse order compared to the book - the last note I took shows up on top. I'd like the notes to follow the sequence of the book so note 1 from…
is it possible to change the lexicon that currently shows as the apparatus in the exegetical guide—SBL edition to another lexicon I have in my library — A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, 3rd edition.? My iPhone defaults to this in Word Info, but not on my iPad. Thank you
