My Free Edition reads like an advert for Subscription

I thought I would revive my Free Edition of Logos to see what enticements non-subscription users are faced with.
The Login and download to my current installation went smoothly, albeit I did not follow its progress. When I noticed it had completed I pressed Continue and saw this:

I was completely disoriented, wondering if this was really for me. I think I prayed before clicking the Get Started button and was greeted with:

I thought this was the Web App displaying Dashboard with the App toolbar on the Left (not shown above). When I got my bearing, I reverted the toolbar to its proper location and set about correcting other Settings

At Startup was opening to Dashboard instead of the last Local Layout
Free Edition Dave does not have to worry about Banners (greyed out) because I don't have a qualifying product
A few Show settings had to be reverted.

You see, this wasn't the first time I installed my Free Edition and it ignored loading my Saved Layout as I had to see the advertising splash on the Dashboard with non adjustable options for the Explore section.

Well the fact is, it's free though, so I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised that there is a focus on getting us to subscribe, ya know? Who pays the piper, calls the tune, right? 😋

The world spins. Planets careen through space. Climate changes. Logos once offered free Bible-search software, but no longer. Now, Logos offers free ads (expensive ads if you subscribe) with a bible teaser in the corner.

The most annoying ads go away if you subscribe, and the Bible search becomes pretty good, and the Logos offers excellent access to quality resources. Better than anyone else out there IMHO. I subscribe and think the price is worth it because of translation work.

So, things change. Just be thankful there isn't a pop-up political message or undergarment ad. Yet.

Remember when user voices fended off a Faithlife Dating website? Yeah, that was back in the days of Bob. Now, if the user voices can just fend off targeted Depends ads from popping up while reading old people passages like Psalms 23. Remember the Alamo!
