Anyone seeing any problems with Alpha 21 where the normal quit doesn't work and it yields the spinning beach ball of death?
I have to Force-Quit my way out of the application.
Not for me. Please follow the steps to recreate the crash and then post your logs.
Blessings
It isn't a crash. I just can't exit correctly. No matter how long I wait the spinning beach ball is there. When I go to the Force Quit Applications, it says Logos has stopped responding.
Do you still want me to collect the stuff and post it?
yes please

James I am having the same problem for a while now, I've posted logs a number of times and I was told that it would be looked into and someone would get back with me and I have yet to hear from anyone yet. The program is great other then the fact that I have to force quit EVERY TIME! it's a little frustrating but I will be patient and wait.

Along with logs, suspect a screen shot of what's open would be helpful. Also wonder about layout work-around in forum http://community.logos.com/forums/p/17980/135374.aspx#135374 ? (e.g. closing floating panels - one window open - normal quit ?)

Do you have the Cited By resource open when this occurs? This has been a continuing problem with L4 Mac that makes it practically unusable for me. The Dev Team is aware of the problem, but I have not seen any indication that they are working on it.
I don't really have Cited By or Floating windows or anything "special". It's the normal layout I use for my reading plan which is reading through the bible. I didn't have this problem last week with Alpha 21. It just seems to have cropped up for me the last few days.
I don't have any special layouts open as well just my bible and commentary open. I've been having this problem for a while and it still hasn't got any better.
I am also experiencing the problem.
I have two Mac's I run it on regularly. One suffers the problem (Snow Leopard) one doesn't (Leopard.) Both are Mac Pro's.
I've now seen this twice.
Mark me down for having the same problem. No special layouts, just standard stuff, or even just the home screen. I too am on Snow Leopard.
Same problem here; have to force quit every time. Only began to happen in the last two weeks. Tried using time machine to go back to earlier version, but to no effect - still have to force quit. I use Snow Leopard and Logos 4 had worked fine on it, as I say, until recently.
Actually, after looking around a bit more, the problem has been resolved here. Basically, on the home page, at the bottom left-hand corner, click "customize" and make sure that "Lectionary" is unchecked. You'll have to force-quit one more time, but from then on, L4 will quit quickly and painlessly. Most likely a conflict between L4 and either SnowLeopard 10.6.4 or Safari 5.
Yep same problem here. It happens regardless of what is open and what is going on. Just started after the last update.

Nah
I seems that it is the compilers of the Lectionary giving us too much choice during the green season.

PS Shouldn't the font colour for the Readings reflect the liturgical colour?
I thought I would add to the discussion. EVERY TIME with the latest updates I have to force the close by holding down the on off button. I am running latest Mac software on MacBook Pro Mac OS X version 10.6.4 Mark

For closing, wonder if Force Quit attempted: right click on Dock icon => press option key => click Force Quit
Forum http://community.logos.com/forums/t/18663.aspx has A22.1 Lectionary workaround.

Technical observation: Lectionary issue is buffer overflow example - more stuff than anticipated => overwrites adjoining stuff => surprises: e.g. Force Quit
