I’ve really enjoyed using Logos Bible Software for many years. It’s been a valuable tool in my study. However, some of the more recent changes have, in my opinion, made the app less user-friendly.
For example, entering a Scripture reference directly into the search bar no longer works without also selecting the passage from the table of contents section. Similarly, when I want to look up a word or phrase by long-pressing, I wish the information appeared immediately, instead of being hidden behind additional toggles. This was default behavior a few months back.
If I wanted a “smart search,” I would have opened the full search in its own tab. What I want from the small search box next to the current passage is just the ability to quickly search verses. I realize I may be in the minority on this preference, which is why I suggested making it the default behavior (with the option to change it).
While I think some of the AI features are interesting, and I even pay for them, I honestly don’t see myself using them often. It would be great if there were an option to turn them off or make another action the default.
Overall, I liked the way the app functioned before all the AI integrations were added. As it stands, I would rate the mobile app 2/5 and don’t really recommend it anymore. Frankly, I regret updating my Logos app.
