Please allow us to access, read, search, etc. our personal (user-created) books on the mobile app.
Thank you for your interest and passion for this feature. We'd still definitely like to solve this. The reason for the delay isn't because we don't understand it's important to many of you but because it's a surprisingly large undertaking in both work and ongoing cost. As we prioritize work to do, we have to ensure that the return on investment is good and it aligns with our current strategy. I do expect this will get some attention as some point in the not-too-distant future, but it doesn't meet the criteria to be an immediate priority, unfortunately. Thank you for continuing to express your interest in this work.
Please vote for adding Personal Books to Logos Mobile:
Please allow PB on mobile app.
If this is not a high priority, then what features do you folks deem higher priority? The only thing I can think that would be a higher priority is better search capability - Verbum is clunky with searches and this is being kind. I end up using google to find documents and then go to verbum for the principle source.
The issue runs very deep in the Logos structure. As you are no longer converting old texts, no longer keeping up with recent church documents released, not deliberately expanding the denominational resources, being slow in expanding languages … mind you this are all likely solid business decisions so this is not a complaint but rather an observation … some user groups such as the German language group, the Restoration (Church of Christ group), a Lutheran subgroup etc. have essentially worked to fill in the gaps. This means they are producing e-book and readers' edition levels that extend Logos capabilities. Some of these are quite sophisticated such a tri-lingual, morph tagged version of the creed. The result is that there are a significant number of "personal books" that should have a position between eBooks and Readers editions in the Logos environment.
The current direction of Logos appears to be concentrating on the core customer base and underserving the more liberal and liturgical church base e.g. never correcting the problems with the implementation of church calendars which leads them to be expensive to maintain and slow to be added, not accounting for multiple lectionaries in the sermon management software despite the season of creation becoming official in some major denominations, … The result, judging by the forums, is a decrease in enthusiasm for recommending Logos to their friends and colleagues. Expanding the usefulness of "personal books" i.e. publicly available resources in areas of Logos' weakness is a quick and inexpensive way to shore up support compared to the alternatives.
Welll… We can already make a book in MS Word…. and we can compile it into Logos and link it and it will track with other books. So the process is there… And since I have a license for Logos to run on desk top or mobile…. looks to me like it's just a matter of letting the compiled book run on mobile… But what do I know?? lol 😎
Yes please!!!
I don’t know whether there is a button someplace that I’m supposed to click on in order to vote, but consider this post my assent on this issue: Yes, I would like to be able to access my personal books on the mobile app!
This would be amazing. I could get rid of so many other apps and only user Logos if this was available.
I guess we will need over 75 gazillion votes to get it done… but this would be a great enhancement to Logos mobile. I pray we get it one day. 😎
This would be extremely beneficial. I have found that if am studying a layout on my desktop, it would be helpful to be able to take that up on my mobile device and visa-versa.
Currently, the only speed options for a Read Aloud on a Macbook are x.75, 1.0, 1.4, and 2.0. The problem is that Logos is not calculating the 1.4 and 2.0 correctly, so both of those are hyperspeed. 1.0 is too slow. I am requesting there be a slider bar instead of just 4 speed options (two of which do not even work…
I am still using Sermon Builder for my Bible Studies because I also like to use Slides, with maps and charts and visual copies and all that in my Bible Studies. I would Love it if I could add all of that in the Bible Study Builder.
I am the pastor of a small church. I prepare my sermons and the slides for them. I enjoy the features of Logos and Proclaim. They work very well together and save me a lot of time. I have noticed in various areas I can capture text or create documents, there are different formatting options. Example: In notes, I can write…
