New Search Feature

Logos 46.1 Beta has just dropped. It now has A.I. search features in it similar to ChatGpt, Gemini or Copilot. You can ask questions in plain "english" and get an answer based on your library.

First problem - release notes emphasize your library but keeps giving me responses from locked resources. I don't know if I own them and then get the pop-up telling me to buy it in a new tab when clicked.

Second - I can't limit results to certain collections like I can with the regular search.

So for now, it's an AI feature that continues to operate as an advertisement.

When using Factbook make sure that "Library" is checked. See picture below.

If you select "All" it will look at the Logos website.

@Lynden O. Williams I was speaking more of the Bible Study Assistant that's launched from the smart search synopsis.

Ok. I see what you mean. It needs to prioritize books that you own, and the order in which you have them. Some commentaries and Dictionaries are have a higher ranking in my library than the results I am seeing. But, this is a first draft. Let's see what comes up next week.

Have you tried searching for something that you know you have adequate resources for in your library? Maybe, your library does not have information on the give topic? If you don't mind, share what you placed in the search assistant and I will see if I can duplicate your results. Share a screen shot also. That may help to explain what you are seeing.

I would also like for the developers to give the option to research based on collections.

Yeah, it's a cool feature, but until you can search from specific resources, I am not sure I will use it much. I have built a library based on my interests, and I would like those questions and conversations to stem from that library. I'm not sure why it searches the entire Logos library, although it could be a useful feature when you don't have enough resources on a topic. I feel like we should start with our library and work our way out from there, but I'm sure it's not as easy as that sounds to develop.

Misread what you wrote. Here is what I get from Study Assistant.

Study Assistant will attempt to limit its search to a book or books by an author if you prompt it to do so. It doesn't work perfectly every time, but I find it generally does what I ask it.

More correctly, Study Assistant is launched from the Tools menu but you can also use it from the Synopsis of Smart Search.
