In my Logos desktop app, all I have to do to get to a Bible verse is open a Bible tab, type the citation in the reference box, hit Enter, and the verse comes up. This is super-convenient and as it SHOULD be.
Based on my memory, the mobile app USED TO work like this, but Logos has been degrading this functionality for some time.
If I have a Bible tab open in the mobile app and tap the reference box, it brings up a list of ALL THE BOOKS IN THE BIBLE. I then have to SCROLL through the list to find the book I want and THEN click a right-pointing arrow to select the CHAPTER I want to go to. Then I have to SCROLL DOWN from the top of the chapter to find the verse I want. There is NO WAY to go directly to the verse.
Until fairly recently, I had a work-around that was frustrating, but at least it worked. I could use the Search feature (magnifying glass icon), type the verse I want, and then hit Enter. However, the functionality on the Search feature has changed so that now a list of MULTIPLE verses from different books come up, and the verse I told the Search feature I wanted isn't even prioritized at the top of the list. I thus have to SCROLL DOWN through the list looking for the verse I want and hoping that it's there.
I just got off the phone with Customer Service, and they told me there is no alternate way to do this. It's just how the mobile app is at present.
This is TERRIBLE, DEGRADED functionality, and it needs to be fixed!
Users of a Bible app want to get to a Bible verse QUICKLY. Logos needs to prioritize re-implementing the same kind of OBVIOUS, EASY functionality the desktop app has so that one can simply type the verse you want in the reference box and hit Enter.
I can't believe the mobile app has such terrible functionality given the commendable emphasis (which I've seen at Logos headquarters myself) on making the mobile app work.
THIS URGENTLY NEEDS TO BE FIXED. IT IS THE SINGLE BIGGEST BARRIER TO EASE-OF-USE FOR A BIBLE APP ON MOBILE DEVICES.
Thank you, and God bless you.
