Please reduce the load time of the Logos desktop app for PC. Its boot time currently exceeds the combined startup duration of Visual Studio and Adobe Photoshop.
What sort of startup time are you seeing?
21 seconds
@Graham Criddle
Logos PC: After a reboot, the first launch, 21 seconds. Subsequent launches, 5 seconds.
Logos Web: Open Microsoft Edge and load Logos Web bible, 5 seconds.
Visual Studio 2026: Open VS and load a project, 7 seconds
Adobe Photoshop 2026: Open PS and load an image, 8 seconds
Intel Core i7-1355U, 32GB RAM, 1GB SSD, Windows 11 25H2
@Graham Criddle just wondering, how long does Logos take to load the first time after a reboot on your computer?
Hi @HeIsWithUs
just wondering, how long does Logos take to load the first time after a reboot on your computer?
I've just checked this and, according to the Logos log, it took 17.5 seconds
2025-11-08 20:24:22.2795 INFO 2 StartupUtility | Finished startup at 17.47s.
Looking at the log activity, there are some things that take a significant part of those 17.5 seconds, such as:
2025-11-08 20:24:14.1994 INFO 13 SyncManager
Starting sync manager thread.
2025-11-08 20:24:14.2003 INFO 13 StartupUtility
(1891ms) Startup step: StartPostSetFactoryServicesWork
2025-11-08 20:24:14.2013 INFO 33 SyncManager
Sync manager thread started.
But most of it is because Logos is starting a lot of processes, connecting to databases, etc.
For me, this amount of startup time does not cause any problems - it is rare I reboot my computer or restart Logos apart from for testing purposes - but I understand for others this may be a problem.
Microsoft Word opens in 1 second.
Sure - but is doing a lot less in the background.
Microsoft Windows 11 from off to login in 20 seconds.
You need to compare to a comparable program in terms of functionality and to acknowledge the degree of control the user has over load time in Logos, For example, in Logos what is the difference in load time if you open to a blank page vs. loading to a complex layout with several complex filters defined against the entire Bible? I agree that it would be nice to have Logos load faster but there are outstanding bugs, incomplete features, and additional features I would give higher priority to.

If this is possible, please direct me to the answer. The Logos AI assistant did not know of any answers. I have a Bible study I am preparing using the sermon builder that will include handouts that I will print out. I have a graph in the form of an image I want to include on the handout for people to take home. I can copy…
I would like a Linux version to download & use on my Desktop. I do not own Windows or MacOS, and I understand that it can be used via webapp, but a standalone Linux version would be better and more suitable to my devices. Something that you all might be interested in, is creating an AppImage so that it can run on any Linux…
Excellent start!! It would be great to have the ability of creating different folders (like if they were projects) within the study assistant, sort of like Perplexity. This would provide next level organization and the ability to have our studies based on projects.
Many Logos users simply aren't aware of Logos Community Groups so I think it would be wonderful if Logos could add a link in the Logos app… perhaps in the 3-dot menu under Online Support Center?
I regularly find myself opening the Sermon Builder tool to simply search for a quote from a respected Christian. Why not add "Quotes" to the search tab?
