In your third image where are you putting the help and close function so that they clearly belong to the section not a particular entry?

And how will you separate expand/contract the section vs. the first entry?

@MJ. Smith Right — that’s exactly how the Logos Bible Word Study tool behaves in the feature request you were reading.

When the Lemma section is collapsed, the Greek (or Hebrew) lemma is displayed in a compact summary line at the top, giving you a quick reference without taking up much vertical space.

When the Lemma section is expanded, it opens up into the full detailed view, showing all the entries, translations, and related data.

I was trying to play Socrates … pointing out that one lost functionality (and consistency) which are elements that must be considered in changes to the UI. Or put another way, I was pointing out the details in functionally that keep me from giving the proposal a vote despite recognizing the merit of your goal.

Not bad ideas … but the start of a conversation on an issue which may have multiple possibilities for actual implementation. Logos needs to know that you want more compact information using the vertical space more efficiently. Your idea makes it clear what you see as problematic and how you would resolve it. My post tells them what I am concerned about losing. The two combine gives their UI design group a great starting point for brainstorming.

The help and close function disappear when the entry is collapsed.

And how will you separate expand/contract the section vs. the first entry?

The first entry, the uncollapsed view, would remain the same. It is only the collapsed view that would differ.
