My RSV, NRSV, NRSVue, NETS .... do not include the Book of Odes

Do you have Factbook claim that 2 Chronicles is the Book of Psalms because of the content of Chapter 16? … I am completely frustrated trying to find a version of a Bible that contains Ode 12/13 … even Factbook gives me a garbage listing because the texts of the book of Odes occur elsewhere in the Bible.

And yes, I got genuinely angry when I saw that the lead article is not on the Book of Odes but on a single chapter within the book … this is so bizarre it goes beyond the laughter are errors mark.

We spent some time discussing this today. Here's what is going to happen.

We're going to be updating all the Bible Data Types that include the Book of Odes (e.g. LXX, LXX2, etc.) that have mappings to Prayer of Manasseh. The relationship between the two books predates my time and I'm not entirely clear why we mapped the two but didn't do that for Odes and Exodus or Odes and Isaiah.

Data type changes take a long time to work their way through the system so it will be several months before any changes are noticed but it will solve the problems you were having in Bible Study Builder and should improve the experience in pre-generated questions.

In the meantime, you can enter Odes 12 or Odes 13 directly into Factbook and it will update the Texts and Commentaries that are returned so you can find commentaries or Bibles that only cover the Book of Odes.

Thanks Kyle, I hope this resolves all the issues. I'll try to remember to circle back in a few months and see if any issues remain. The relationship of the Book of Odes to other books of the Bible, and even canonicity, is sufficiently unique as to make it easy to see how the problems arose.

Thank you Bradley, it is helpful and I find no errors. However, the Lexham English Septuagint edition 2 has its own numbering of Odes that I had never seen before.

It follows the numbering of the Swete edition of the LXX (from my table).

Bible Data Type changes (that @Kyle G. Anderson was mentioning) will affect all Bibles in the system. (If you have more specific changes in mind for just those German Bibles then please provide further details.)

It occurs to me that the Gloria should not be shown as having references in the NRSV, NABRE as those are allusions rather than actually using the Biblical text. The Gloria is the only text that is original in the Odes. Aksi you might want to add another translation - one that contains 2 Chronicles 37.

you might want to add another translation - one that contains 2 Chronicles 37.

The only Bible I'm aware of in Logos that uses this numbering is the Russian Synodal Translation. At this point I don't plan to add links just to that version. (In part because I can't read the text to double-check all the other references.)

I'm not even sure that's correct - maybe the entry in the verse map giving 12 verses for 2 Chr. 37 is somehow an artifact? The Russion Synodal Bible Translation in Logos ends 2 Chronicles after chapter 36 and continues with Prayer of Manasseh , the online editions I could find seem all to jump to Ezra after 2 Chr. 36.

This is funny: I've had that Bible open a lot recently (to investigate some crashes with the SAAS versemap) but didn't think to look in it.

Like you said, Logos doesn't provide a feature to ask "Is there any Bible in my library that has a chapter named '2 Chron 37'?" so it's difficult to find.
