iPad app running slow
I was wondering if there was a problem with the app servers as I am getting errors when attempting to run a passage guide and delays when changing verses or resources... even a crash or two?

Neither the iPhone nor the iPad is receiving downloads this morning. I was also noticing sluggish performance in the past day or so.

I think this is still happening. I started experiencing this situation this morning around 4:45 edt.
Support had me delete my reading plan.
Logged out and back in. Got rid of any offline books
I even deleted and re-installed the app.
All to no avail.
anyone have any suggestions?Thanx,Brian0 -

My iPad is not connecting to Logos either. I just noticed it this morning. I had a book that was downloaded that I could read, when I attempted to switch to another book that was supposed to be downloaded, the app couldn't load it. It can't download news and reading schedules on the home page either. I've logged out and back in but still not responding. I am on wifi.

The iPad is a wonderful device. Logos for iphone/iPod Touch/iPad works the same, although it does work on the iPad without screen doubling, so that you get a very clear book reading experience. The program allows you to download books to the iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch) for reading, so that you have offline reading ability. The advantage of the iPad over the iPod Touch or iPhone is that you have a larger screen and a better reading experience.
It can do searches, but it is not a replacement for Logos on a desktop. I think of it as a more comfortable format for reading.

I hope they are hard at work on fleshing out the iPad version with stronger search capability, split panels/layouts, better offline integration, and offline access to word studies and other tools. Right now the iPhone/iPad app is a couple steps behind the competition but if they address these issues it would be the best in the business due to the library. Right now I use it because it is where my library is not because it is the best. I have confidence they will change that.

I went with a wifi only iPad because I didn't want the monthly bill for 3G. I think if I were wanting 3G capability, I would check on a smart phone that could be tethered or a mifi device rather than buying a 3G iPad. But that is a personal choice. I did go with 64 gigs, but it would be possible to get by with less memory, you would just have to be careful about how much you attempt to load on it at once.

I've had my iPad since the day of release. With a 64 gig iPad, I still have 50 gigs free. But if I had a 16 gig iPad, it would be nearly full. People load photos, music, office documents, and software as well as books. The iPad will hold a great deal, but you still have to be aware of how much you have put on it. My experience with computers in general is that we tend to fill the space available
For wifi only iPads, the ability to download books for offline reading is very nice in the Logos app. I've read in the forum some people attempting to download their whole Logos libraries on the iPad. The iPad is big enough to do that (especially the 32 and 64 gig models), although I don't think the current app is well suited for it. I tend to download only the things I am currently working on. Sometimes if there is a glitch, those books disappear, and I end up downloading them again. You may not want to load every document, music file, ebook, and photo you have onto your iPad at once because of space limitations. But there is plenty of space to work in a mobile environment, but the space does have limits.
