I did some research using Logos AI and I wanted to use some of the clippings in a substack post. How much can I cite without violating copyright? Can I do an AI summary of the clipping if it is too long to avoid violating copyright?
Copyright law actually varies from country to country, but generally if you cite properly you can do 300-500 words (https://www.evangelicalpress.com/how-much-can-i-quote-a-guideline-for-writers-and-editors/). Quoting AI is a frontier of the law that has not been settled, but I think that if you really want to use the AI summary, just explain that "The Logos Bible Software research assistant, drawing on [A], [B], and [C] summarized is this way." But I would just write my own summary if I were you and cite the source you're paraphrasing.
Thank you

My Initial startup panel has an option for the Catholic Daily Lectionary. I select the date I want and Verbum opens a layout that has all my bibles…
