Make AI outside of subscription, and let people use it and buy extra credit.

I've been buying Logos packages for years, and sadly, since the shift toward a subscription‑based model, I no longer see a reason to pay or rent something that I will not own.

I would really like to use the AI features, but they are tied to the subscription, which is disappointing. If I could use them with the “legacy” model — which is much better for my budget than paying monthly for something I don’t own — I would gladly purchase additional AI credits whenever I run out.

Please don’t lock everything behind a subscription. Allow people to use individual features or components in different ways, like the “Synopsis” tool. Have you realized that I would actually burn through AI credits and buy more if you allowed me to use them without requiring a subscription?

It’s just an idea, but I genuinely believe the subscription‑only approach is pushing away long‑time customers.

I'm confused. The existing subscription structure is primarily for the AI. In fact, Logos sweetens the deal by tossing in tons of extras on top of the AI - lots of great books (including really expensive Lexham commentaries), free courses that renew quarterly, rolling feature additions and improvements, etc. Why would you want to strip out the "extras" and just get the AI? Are you hoping for a lower price? Well, consider this: OpenAI charges $20 per month for access to its premium AI.

I might misunderstand the subscription then, What will happen to all those "expensive commentaries, courses etc. if you stop paying subscription"?
Let's say, after 2 years of paying subscription, I decide to stop, what Will I retain?

No, you don't get to keep the content - but you never paid for the content. You are paying primarily for the AI and the rapid release software dev cycle. The content they give you is just a free bonus on top of everything else you are getting for a very reasonable monthly fee. You do, however, have the option to buy that content should you decide you want to add it to your library on a permanent basis (but why do this - you are getting access to it for free).

This is exactly where we see things differently. When you say “but you never paid for them,” that confirms my point — it’s rent. And for me, rent is a waste of money because I will never own the assets. You pay forever and end up with nothing permanent. It is NOT getting access to those resources for free, it is renting them.

That’s why, from my perspective, the subscription model doesn’t make sense. I stopped buying things last year because the direction Logos is taking simply isn’t good for me as a long‑time customer.

Anyway, that’s just my opinion regarding the AI features and the shift toward subscriptions.

Ok - so, let's say Logos removed all of the extras and just allowed you to pay a monthly fee of $10 for the AI access - would you be willing to do that, or is that "rent" against which you are taking a stand?
