Cloud Computing and Mobile Devices!

This morning when I opened Logos, I didn't connect right away and had to manually click "sign in." Before I did so, however, I decided to read Logos' explanation of why we need a logos account to sign in. The screen shot is below:

Please notice the pertinent text: Most resources you have purchased can be used with Logos Bible Software desktop software (both PC and Mac), over the web, or on mobile devices.

That is exciting to me. Perhaps it means they are farther along in the development of this than we thought.

Also, based on the phrase "Purchase once, use anywhere," it sounds like there will be a format for us to access resources from any computer with internet access, though perhaps not the ability to have access to a fully indexed library (?). This is intriguing. Any thoughts or insights?

So I have a Logos install on several machines and when I log on...all my resources are downloaded; my settings are synced, and I'm ready to go no matter where I am....

Does this mean that I can put Logos on 50 machines around the world? as long as more than one isn't being used at any one time?

They way I understood it was this: I'm out of town and don't have my computer with me. But I have access to a computer at the hotel. I can log into logos.com and have access to my library from there. Perhaps this would be similar to how Bible.logos.com works, but I'd be able to open most of my resources, not just Bibles. So my logos.com account allows me access to my library through 3 different mediums: the logos software, the internet, or a mobile device.

As a registered user I missed how to sign in?

I did see how to get in under the new user... without internet, but this does not seem right.

There are advantages to the cloud concept but I also want to be responsible for my files and my investments.

I think there is a misunderstanding of what all of us have purchased. Maybe Logos is different, and if they are please correct me, but you did not buy files or books. You bought a license to use them as per their license agreement. If Logos goes away so does your license and therefore you do not have the rights to any of the books. We may not like this, but this is the way licensing of content works. The difference is in the digial world, it might be easier to eliminate my benefit of that use after the license has terminated for whatever reason. If I own a book, they cannot come get it. But with a digital file, they own the content and I only get to use it per their license, which i would bet they reserve the right to change at any minute.

I don't like it, but that's the way it is. I would like to hear a Logos power either confirm or correct my statement.

Ditto. I've always understood it that we own the resource, which set Logos apart from others.

Ooooo, nice find. I assume that wording was not accidentally typed in. This is a very exciting possibility. I don't know how (or if) it will be implemented, but this would be a great, and long desired, addition to Libronix. (Though, as much as I hate to say it, I would still rather have a copy of my license so I can reinstall without the internet... it hurts to say that since I would love to see conversion to mobile devices as an option.)

I am not a lawyer and obviously this would vary depending on the laws of your country but I don't think this is right; you have bought a licence to the content and it can't be taken away at their discretion... cf US laws on copyright; fair use and DMCA...

The big picture is an Iphone. If you click on the little pictures they expand and are the first glimpses of the mobile logos application for the Iphone.

At first I'm thinking it's an iphone app only. That depresses me, because I'm not an Apple lemming. The cult of Apple completely puts me off using their overpriced stuff.

Then I'm considering that m.logos.com is a web address, surely that means a globally accessable website for any internet enabled mobile device.

You know like real business devices like a Blackberry (mine) or even a ([:O]) Palm-Pre?
