Timelines: Perhaps I'm incompetent
I can't figure out how to make timelines even readable. I'm looking at the on my netbook so I'm sure the screen size doesn't help, but the size of the fields is way to small to even read (i can hover over them and then it pops up a text box to tell me what it says but that isn't too helpful). I can't figure out how to zoom in so that the text boxes are a manageable size. The intuitive thing to do would be to zoom with the text size slider in the upper left like we do for other resources. The text size slider is there but doesn't appear to do anything.

jacob,
the zoom slider doesn't do anything that I can see.
Using my middle mouse wheel zooms in and out..
CTRL + Shift + middle mouse wheel changes the scale (timeline width)

hmm, that was not intuitive to me
It's weird. I just tried it on my netbook and it only works sporadically with the far right trackpad scroll. I cannot figure out why it sometimes works (for about a half-scroll) and most of the time just does absolutely nothing (even though the icon that pops up when I'm using the scroll pad appears).

Thanks tor the tip. I wouldn't have worked that out, doesn't seem to be in the help file from what I can see.

IMHO, It probably should be CTRL-Mouse Wheel for font size to be consistant with Microsoft IE and Office, Wheel alone should just scroll (like most apps), and the CTRL-SHIFT-Wheel can do Scale...

What about those who don't have a mouse wheel?

I think ctrl - or ctrl + works in many programs. But I honestly never use a shortcut to zoom. So I don't know. I just know that on my netbook I am unable to use the timelines due to this restriction

Almost all of the visuals in the software can be zoomed with just the mouse scroll wheel. Ctrl+= and Ctrl+- will do the same thing on the keyboard.
Update: Well, the keyboard shortcuts seem to be a bit buggy. It was working, and now it's not. We'll look into this.
