Resource Information Fields -- Consistency
I really like the versatility of My LIbrary, being able to right-click & choose which information is displayed. It is great to sort by Author, Series, Publisher, Type, etc. BUT this highlights even more the need for consistency in data format. A capital letter, comma, period, space between intials, or last name first vs first name first is enough to confuse things.

First, I agree this is annoying. But, what do you propose as a solution? It is my understanding that MacArthur publishes stuff using all these different names. He is the one who has published without a consistent approach. Logos cannot legally change the Author name because that is part of the copyrighted materials from the publishers. So what solution do you see?0

We have built into Logos 4 the capability to download an update (from our server) that can correct the metadata in resources that have been produced over the last 15 years. (Because this is just updating author, publisher, etc., it will be a much smaller download than downloading all the resources.)
This feature is not turned on in Beta 3, mostly because we haven't corrected enough of the metadata yet to see any significant improvement. We hope to turn it on soon in an upcoming beta, at which point most of these problems should be corrected.

Bradley, does this require a reindexing of the works or only of the library?

Only of My Library (the same as if you edited a title yourself).

Does this mean that the files held in the Resources folder in Program Files, which is also accessed by L3, will update and be accessible to L3 at the same time?
Is it just the metadata that is updated?
If the files themselves are updated at some later time will they still be usable by L3?

Only the metadata in Logos 4 will be updated; it won't affect any files in the LDLS3 Resources folder.
If the resources are rebuilt for LDLS3, the metadata corrections will be included in them.

Thanks for the clarification, that is reassuring.
