What Am I Missing??
With L3, and everyother Bible program I've ever used, or am using, I can come back to the opening screen that I've either setup or last used.
With L4, I seem to have the ability of coming into the Home Page (not interested in doing that) or to a blank screen. Is there no option to have my "standard opening" layout that I saved be my default opening workspace? I mean, this isn't a word processor where most of the time I'm starting the program to create a document, and so I don't want the last (or favorite) document to automatically open with the program.
But, this is my Bible study program, and I'd like to be able to leave my books open on my desk and when I come back to start work on the project (e.g., opening L4) I'd like not to have to click on Layout and find my standard opening setup.
Surely I'm missing something. Please tell me I've just over looked something?

You haven't overlooked anything.
It won't open to a particular layout at this time

I can only imagine that this feature is coming. Maybe a little after 4.0 release. If its a resource you want to open up to you can do this. Right now you can't do it with searches , reports, or layouts.
In Vista...
To open to a resource copy the location to the clipboard, Go to your desktop, right click, select new>Shortcut and paste the location in. You can change the icon, too. Once your shortcut is made it will open to that resource.

I forgot to add. You can drag this icon to the shortcut bar too. That way if the icon of the resource you want already looks like the icon of something else on the menu bar you can give it a unique look...

I hope this is addressed before V4 is officially released. This is extremely annoying. I still haven't been able to get use to opening to a blank page and having to jump through some hoops to get back to where I was on my last study session. I'm hoping beta 4 or 5 will fix this - not 4.1 or something.

I've asked for a "Restore to last session" option too. For now what I do is open to the last layout (usually saved before you exit). You could also get in the habit of naming your layout before you shut down. I named one "Main" and put that on the short-cut area. I have to remember to change it each time before I shut down, but it's a work-around that works for now.

Hello Dale,
One other workaround here is to click on the word Layouts at the top right of the screen. There you will find several of your last sessions, at least where you ended the session. If I am preparing a sermon, I will end the session with the screens I will need when I come back to Logos 4 to complete my preparation.
Hope this helps out!

During beta process this option will cause big problems. Beta 3 couldn't load Beta 2 layouts without crashing. Beta 4 crash if try to open Beta 3 layouts. If there was an option to autoload Your favorite layout Logos 4 will crash at every attempt to startup after upgrade to next Beta.
