Wish: Redefine verse 1 placement in Psalms

I don't know if this is even possible, but it would be really cool if the "Copy Bible Verse" tool would not include the subtitle information in the Psalms (when they appear), when copying the first verse of a Psalm with a subtitle. I know it's part of the Masoretic text, etc., but I get tired of deleting it when all I want is what is listed as verse 1 in the English Biblical text.

Could we create a verse 0 (zero), for the Psalms and put the subtitles there? How about thinking of the Psalms as a collection of articles with the Psalm number and subtitle as article titles ( Psalms is unique in this way)?

What's that song: "dreamers of impossible dreams...."

Thanks for considering this.

    Hi Richard,

There currently doesn't appear to be any syntax that will remove the subtitle, but I will request it.

    Thanks,

Yes I know. I also know that to do what I ask would require a lot of work rebuilding all the Bibles Logos offers. To save Logos time, I'll send in my prioritized Bibles. Just do those for now. [;)]

But I do find this behavior annoying, and wish it worked the way the surface text suggests it should (the verse number comes after the subtitle in English Bibles), or that there was some kind of work-around that would make it work the way I want it to work.

... when copying the first verse of a Psalm with a subtitle.

If you copy just Ps 3:1 or Ps 3:1-8, the subtitle won't be included.  If you copy the whole chapter, Ps 3, it will be.

We already created a "title" verse to do exactly this. Try copying from one of the Bibles we've rebuilt for Logos 4 (ESV, NRSV, NASB95).

    Very cool!

The next one on my prioritized list is the NIV. But you can wait with that until you give us the NIV RevInt. (Yeah, right!)
