Does anyone have a CSV/Excel list of all the books in Logos Platinum?

Hi there,
I really want to have a full catalog of all my printed books, and my electronic books so I can quickly find what I need when I need it.
This requires that I have an file with the book information listed that I can import into my software.
I am using "All my Books v2" as the main catalog software, and it permits TXT and EXCEL documents for importation.
Surely someone out there has a list?
I did my homework and tried to export to Zotero and then through SQLITE to EXCEL and then to ALL MY BOOKS by the SQLITE part didn't work..
Anyone willing to make my day better? LOL
God bless, josh

Josh welcome to the forums,
I know you asked for an EXCEL file but you also mentioned that you can use a TXT file for your software

So here is a file of the Commentaries in the Platinum package.
8117.Platinum Commentaries.txt
and here is a complete file of all the books in the PORTFOLIO package...it might be easier to remove books than trying to create one from scratch.

But you could also do the same thing with your entire library by creating a "collection" of all of your resources by using the "rating:>=0" as shown below.
After the collection has been created do the "CTRL+P" command to bring up the print-export window (or use the box dropdown illustrated by the top left arrow on the screen capture below) and export the list to a txt file as shown in the screen capture below. I will have to add here that I am using the Beta 10 and I am not sure if this printing ability is available outside of Beta yet.

The Export to Bibliography feature was working prior to 4.1 but that isn't going to help Josh, since he wants it in .CSV or Excel format.
Josh, it sounds like you were already able to export it to BibTex to get it into Zotero. I tried Googling to see if there was an easy path from BibTex to .CSV or Excel, but nothing really easy showed up. This was the closest I found:
BibTeX export to OpenOffice ODS format via JabRef
ODS to CSV via OpenOfficeI'm i the midst of trying out JabRef and trying to get it to read in the giant BibTex file I exported of my entire Logos library. So far no luck. The BibTex that Logos generates has an odd format that JabRef chokes on. I'm going to post and see if anyone knows what's up with that.
If I can get that figured out, then it's actually a piece of cake, because the current version of JabRef can export directly to .CSV so you won't need to go through OpenOffice.
In the meantime, you might want to try Mark Barnes's bibliographic report generator for Logos.
It would be great if Logos could export the Library directly to Excel and/or .CSV format.

Hi Praiser, Thank you for doing this mate!
Unfortunately the data is not consistently seperated by TAB, or some other distinguishable remark, so it will not easily import. So this does not help me.
Thank you however for making an effort to help a stranger. I hope I can be of assistance to you also in the future.
God bless, josh
PS. Also the export feature is good, but again does not have a consistently distinguishable marker between each type of data eg. Title name, year of pub etc.

I've succeeded in getting most of my library to import into JabRef, with some errors (some entries with duplicate BibTex keys were skipped, some accented characters got messed up).
I had 3429 resources in my Logos Library, but only 3379 imported into JabRef.
René came through as ReneÌ.
So I don't trust this method. Bummer.

Bummer!
I am trying this http://www.4-14.org.uk/off-topic/logos4-bibliographic-report
Its a 14mb upload, but when done, perhaps I can export that to CSV, and do the hard work of data entering the ISBN numbers.
If it works and I have time I will upload the file for everyone else to use.
God bless, josh
PS. I have Logos Scholar Platinum

Nope that failed. I think the problem is that Logos 4 does not output as per my previous posts.

If you still have Libronix (Logos 3) on your machine, or don't mind installing it just for this, Rick Brannan wrote a program that allows you to export ISBN numbers from your library: http://www.supakoo.com/rick/ricoblog/2005/11/04/LibraryThingAndAddingLDLSResources.aspx
Unfortunately, any new L4 resources that are not compatible with L3 will not show up in your L3 library, so your list might not be complete. But at least it could save you some time on manually entering all the ISBNs.
You might also be able to pick up many of the ISBNs from LibraryThing in some automated way. Mark Barnes is in the process of entering his entire Logos library into LibraryThing and many of them do have ISBNs. He's got 2578 books entered so far. See http://www.librarything.com/catalog/markbarnes/logos and http://community.logos.com/forums/p/20337/154966.aspx#154966.
There's another thread discussing various solutions for keeping a digital catalog of your Logos Library here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/17954.aspx

Attached is my excel bibliography. If you want me to make one based on your library send me a text file of your bibliography, exported as bibref. you can send it to pastor at nplainfieldbaptist dot com or post it here. It involves a couple of steps and formulas. If I knew more people would make use of it I would make it into an easy "cut and paste" method process.

Hi Phillip, thank you also for your assistance in this matter. I think if you look at your authors they include the publishers as thier name.
With reference to ISBN export, I think everyone will find this is impossible. The reason is that the database itself does not show any record of an ISBN number as far as records go. I fully recognize that if you open the book itself in Logos you can probably find one., however this is not classed as a record as far as the logos database apparently goes, and therefore is not exportable using standard methods.
I did manage to export all the books into Excel which might be useful for some of you.
With Column Titles (not recommended for importing):
3426.raw-scholarplatinum-withTitles-DontUseForImport.xlsx
WithOut Column Titles (recommended for importing, if you please):
5826.raw-scholarplatinum-Record.xlsx
Best wishes to all.. and yes you may find mistakes in my data export..
God bless, josh

That's just the way the Theological journals are tagged. Since they contain multiple authors by their nature, I guess they just tied it to the institution that developed it.
Glad you were able to get what you needed!
