Is it possible to have three vertical columns across the top third of the screen (for various text resources) and one horizontal window across the bottom two thirds (for the wide visualizations like Lexham Syntax Graphs and OpenText.org Clause Analysis)? I've tried to drag-and-drop but haven't got it to work yet.

I did manage to get it set up. First select the layout that has 3 horizontal panes. Then drag the top two around. I was able to get it working this way.

Yes. But you need to drag your horizontal window all the way to the bottom. The hot spot is pretty low and small.

May I just say I love what you guys have done with the windows. It will take a little getting used to but I find them much better then 3.X. Often times tabs would get buried. Layouts are far Superior to workspaces as well.

Got it - I just didn't go low enough. Now that I know where the hot spot is, this is easy. I agree with Philip - I like the windows. I wasn't very found of them at first (memories of other software I used that looked a lot like these windows but didn't work well), but now that I'm getting the hang of it, they're great.

Thank you Phil, and the whole Logos team. I could hardly wait for version 4 before I know anything about it. Now I CAN'T wait for the release version.

Negatory, Houston. I much prefer workspaces. Workspaces have names, not some tiny picture which is too small to discern what's in it. Give me a word as opposed to a picture any day.

Beta 5 can manage to open layouts from Beta 4 so maybe naming isn't waste of work and time.

That might make it a bit more acceptable if I were able to name the layouts; however, I see no way to name them even though they have a section labelled "Named Layouts." I still thing it's a huge waste of space to have all of those stupid pics there. I have so many workspaces in 3.0 that it would be a rather lengthy list. I don't want to bother paging through them.

Open Layouts (Alt+A):

Then click on the little pen right of "Snapshot | 6:11 PM"

Name your layout in the white box. Then click elsewhere and your layout moves to named layouts in the left (just the name, no pictures)
