Where did you hear that? I thought it was just a release candidate. I thought Oct 1 is the target date for going gold. It's still a couple of weeks away.
We're almost there. This is technically Release Candidate material so there's still some room for bug fixes.

Alan's excited [H]
Aww, shucks! I thought the developers had finished early. Pardon my ignorance. I didn't know the difference between RC (Release Candidate) and final release. [:$]

Alan will jump at any excuse to party. Man, i'd give an arm and a leg to be one of his parishioners! [Z]
It's not October 1 yet, but the word Gold is now in the release notes! Go for it, Alan!
Dan Pritchett photographed a few Mac devs strolling toward UPS with some interesting DVDROM's earlier: http://twitpic.com/2pb2gz/full
when my wife & I got married we received a card that said "now that you are married. . . when can we expect the first grandchild?" When we had our son we got the question, "so are you going to have a second? When?" So in keeping with the spirit of my previous experience let me add:
Congratulations on finishing Logos 4 Mac! So when can we expect 4.1? :-D
Over the past year, this has become my favorite question. I (and others) have answered it in various forms many, many times (I'd say countless, but then someone would go count them just to be pedantic).
The short answer (usually) boils down to this: "We're not telling."
The reasons why we don't tell vary depending on the time and circumstance, but, with rare exception, we don't explicitly declare when we're going to release something. That said, here are some bits of info that might be helpful to consider:
Logos 4 Mac Alpha 1 was released on October 26th, 2009. Including that release, we have released 42 version of Logos 4 Mac in the past 45 or 46 weeks.
Logos 4 Windows was initially released on November 2nd, 2009 and has since had roughly 28-30 releases, including 5 enhancement releases that introduced significant new functionality.
So, that's a development team that has averaged 1.5 updates/release per week for the better part of the last year.
My original calculations failed to account for Windows Beta releases.
Mac Alpha/Beta/RC: approx. 45 (there were more than 27 alpha releases, despite only 27 numerals)
Windows Betas: 44
Windows Non-Betas: 31
Total Releases: 120
Average for the last 46 weeks: 2.6 releases per week.
to me, this just goes to show what happens when people take Col. 3:23 to heart.
thanks for your work and your service to the Lord.
every time i use L4 im amazed all over again.
As one who started with A1 and downloaded nearly every release between I would like to offer up a hearty congratulations and job well done to all of the Mac Devs and to Logos as a whole. I was nostalgically surfing some of those early posts and it is simply amazing how far this has come in such a reasonably short period of time.
May the Lord bless your work bountifully.

Truly wonderful work devs.
How about this teaser screenshot I still have on my Mac Pro at work from October 2, 2009...
Note that none of the other guide sections but Commentaries had any content at the time.
Thanks for all the hard work, Mac team!
Wow, you guys really take that philosophy of "release early, release often" seriously!
Cameron - unfortunately it seems that my attempt at humor failed. I was not actually hassling you all about when the next update will come out so much as poking fun at the fact that that specific question gets asked so much, and in anticipation of a whole spate of posts demanding specifics. Sorry. I am grateful that you all have gotten so far so fast, and as an IT professional, I can appreciate all the work it has taken you to get here. Good job.
[Y] Awesome - Thankful for Logos 4 Mac "Gold Master" - wonder about Logos celebrations ? (on Earth and Heaven)

Now dreaming about next Logos 4 Mac Beta release ? (already set update channel to Beta)
Well, it has now! [:D] Enjoy the party! Take a holiday!
Thanks for all your hard work, David, Cameron, Tom and the rest of the team.
David's twitter says it too:
#Logos4 for Mac was released to manufacturing today. Discs should ship on October 1, and you can download the final release *right now*.
Woo hoo! Congratulations to the Mac Development team. Take your well-earned half-day off, and come back to start working on the next version. [;)] Just kidding. I hope you do get to take a break and relax a bit. You've been hard at work on this for a lo-o-o-o-o-ong time!

I didn't feel hassled . I can't speak for all Logos developers, of course, but I know I am not alone when I say that I am encouraged by an overwhelming majority of the messages on these forums, even the ones that express frustration or dismay over a particular bug or missing feature. I love that there are people who are passionate about our product and incredibly grateful for all of the customers that have dedicated phenomenal amounts of time and energy testing alphas and betas, reporting issues, posting logs and helping others in these forums. My sincere thanks goes to everyone who has participated.
I also took the opportunity to post some numbers that actually surprised me. As Rosie pointed out a few posts up, we do "release early, release often". I thought those numbers would be interesting to many of you and help provide some perspective to anyone (you, or others) who were concerned that "going gold" would bring an end to regular improvements and updates.
Thanks for all the work Mac developers. It is really hard to believe that it has been 10 months or so since the first Mac beta and PC betas came out. Because of all the beta updates, time has really flown by. I can't imagine all the hard work that went in.
I would like to add my congratulations for all the work put into L4 Mac. For me it has been a crash-free experience, but, that may be because I only recently bought my iMac and installed it later in the development process. Plus, I am not a power user yet as I am still learning the software. I really like the product, and I hope to be a 100% Mac User before this year is up.
Thanks again to everyone involved!
I didn't feel hassled
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
And THANK YOU!!!
